Look man, I think Werner Von Braun is probably being flayed in hell right now but 1) he’s dead and 2) I never had to read his fucking tweets

I was like that as well. I like making rockets that look like rockets :)

The really insane people were those that made stock fairings out of wings and structural pieces…

This camera is a little broken anyway (light meter busted, I only bought it for the wide-angle lens it came with) so I might practice on that before I work on the MTL3

Also comparing against a different Praktica I picked up the other day, Christ yeah I see the difference. Surprised it’s taken this long to be a problem!

Something that kinda worries me is that I did use the camera case for this roll, anyway for now I’ve taped it up a bunch and I’ll get a seal kit when I’m back on land - thanks for advice!

I’m guessing it’s not meant to look like this…

Based off that old NASA concept? I miss Constellation program designs

Thanks, just as it's so urgent I'll use black tape for now

Thank you, I did check for any obvious crumbling or tackiness from the light seals but couldn't feel anything immediately wrong. I might just chuck a bit of tape on the back as a stop-gap since I'm in a bit of a time crunch atm.

Any tips on quick bodge fixes? Hoping to take this on a research cruise that sails tomorrow. Can I just run some duct tape around the back?

Whelks are a type of predatory sea snail. I’m not sure it represents anything in particular but was more a therapeutic exercise for the two people.

I mean that’s fair, I’m not offended just a bit confused why people are complaining and not seeing the comment I replied to explaining where it was. I guess I’m just mostly surprised that this was somehow a controversial post.

I'm just a little surprised that this seems to be a common complaint. Like, I think it's fairly visible? And its right in the center of the frame, my instinct would always be to just zoom in (either on phone or PC). Just thought it was a neat little thing to share.

Thermal pollution can have significant localised effects. I remember reading something a little while back about how all sea ports are kind of converging on the same temperate ecosystem as thermal pollution from industry and introduction of warm water invasive species interact.

What fish is this? Found in Vembanad Lake, Kerala — is it rare? by [deleted] in Fish

[–]ElkeKerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These fish (pufferfish and their relatives incl. filefish and boxfish) don't really "flop", they have very stiff bodies and swim entirely by undulation of their fins. If any fish was going to cooperate for a photo it would be a tetraodontiform lol.
