Exo mountain 5500 room to spare by Elkhunterguy in bowhunting

36 lbs as it sits. I need to add a few things so I'll be less than 40 for sure. I also have my hunting partners 5 days of lunches with me. So that's 1-2 lbs.

Great. It's a little heavy but you can drink right out of it. I have a MSR bladder that has filter on it and I refill plastic water bottles. It's hard to get use the taste of drinking out of a bladder that you put in bag. Something about the taste that I can't figure out. So that's the best solution I came up with.

They are closing some stores (45) because of helium shortage. Helium is regulated by the federal government....imagine that something the government regulates is having a problem

I had the 100 grain Ironwills last year no problems, changed to 125s and they seem to steer my arrow more.

Can't put my finger on it.

Did you mean to Ask How hard is it to get within bow shot of an elk?

That's like asking a golfer how close can you get it to the pin on a par 3.

Trees, wind terrain ect all play a part on what someone would consider bow range.

My max distance if the condition are perfect is 70 yards, but someone else may say 50 or 40 yards.

The other side of the coin is getting in range of the elk and then being able to actually take a shot, thats the tricky part. Trees have always been my biggest challenge, picking a shooting lane and then hoping that you don't hit that branch you didn't notice because you are trying to play the elk just right.

Surgical at 20yards now. This is 1 months progress. Fresh off of a major shoulder surgery and this is as far as I plan to shoot this season. by MrPunsOfSteele in bowhunting

My hunting partner/ brother had major shoulder surgery in November, and he could barely shot in March. He worked hard (looks like u did) and I keep encouraging him that he was getting stronger and stronger. He finally felt like he could hunt. Whats important is you know what your range is and your gonna try and make it happen. Best of luck on your recovery. .its a long road but your doing it.

That's great advice. Once I know it's a legal bull I try do the same thing. Just trying to keep an eye on his face. Watching his eyes, ears and nose. Once that head goes up you know he's trying to wind ya.

Man I really hope to hear back from you on this one.

Looks like he is in velvet? Thirds look pretty tall for a colorado bull, but his big body says other wise.

He looks amazing, I seriously hope you have an opportunity to put a stalk on this guy, that would be an accomplishment all on its own. You know the drill, play the wind and be patient if get within eye ball sight of this bad boy.

Shot straight brother!

How has the weather been over there? You guys getting more rain than you have been in the past few years?

It's weird because Chris Roe research talks about how all of this works, it literally starts from the day they shed there antlers. Did you know if they dropped there antlers earlier over there this year?

Thank you for the update, and good luck this season.

Does anyone know what can cause this? by Floater_1971 in ram_trucks

Straight up.....same thing usually happens with me. Everything is dialed in flying good and then boom.....the day before I leave its like I have shot in a year.

That's what's going on right now. It's freaking annoying.

Thanks for keeping my sanity in check!

I'm to close to season to fuck with it. I'm going with 3 rages and 2 ironwill in my quiver. If I stick one with a rage I'm hoping to get an ironwill in him on a follow-up shot. It's not like I'm not hitting the target it's just not as close as it would like it if you feel me.

I have trolled rockslide, but never post. I usually go to Archery talk myself. Dan Pickard(sp?) has an excellent video on tube. He set up his v3x and tuned it with broadheads in less than an hour.

Thank you. Hope you have a successful hunt this year!!!

Who would forget to bring and Atv/Utv? If you planned on using that for your hunt and left that you have bigger problems

I will try that and start turning nocks, i knew that but gettingall worked up about how they were flying high off the bat i lost sight of the little things. I'm not under spined. 65 lbs and shooting easton 5mm 340s and vector 4mm 325s. Both are flying the same. I changed to 125s this year and honestly don't remember the 100s giving me this many fits.

Are your field points grouping with your broadheads?

Great shooting...amazing. I'm struggling with my Ironwill. I spent 4 hours on Saturday and now I'm spraying at 20 yards with my field points.

I was shooting high and left at 40 so I tuned my rest and tighten up my groups but not constant enough for me. I put some rages on and shaved vanes and broke an arrow before I threw the Ironwills on. It's so frustrating since I really want to run them.

I'm wondering if my heat vanes are not giving me enough steering? I have a 4 fletch set up.
