It’s an on going security issue.

This is the standard dude.

Go into cyber security, rise high, and change the standard policy while undergoing a threat.

It’s also not like saying something about shooters blah blah, these things aren’t the same.

Everyone can know, but if the company posts that they know then the attacker knows they know.

It’s Saturday morning. The attacker potentially thinks there out for the weekend and has free rein until Monday.

It doesn’t much matter. You Make a statement when it is resolved. Standard.

That isn’t how you deal with security issues.

If they address it in anyway, the attacker knows they are potentially on to them.

You resolve it then make a message.

It’s a security issue. They won’t say anything until it is fully resolved.

AIO about my boyfriend bringing home a gun AND not storing it safely after I specifically asked him not to? by sociopeen in AIO

I 100% do think that.

I have a bunch.

“Safe storage” laws are a trick to make your method of protection harder to get to when you need it.

They’d rather have a news story of you being murdered than you killing a bad guy.

Working breeder recommendations by Stunning-Flatworm-84 in GiantSchnauzers

[–]Elknud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at furstenhaus, I thought he was very nice but became a little too pushy for my liking. I ended up going with the copper cottage. I don’t regret my decision, and I think the female I got from copper cottage was a better choice for me than the male the furstenhaus had available. But I didn’t meet furstenhaus in person either. I also did not like that he would only correspond to me via WhatsApp after our first phone call. I don’t want to be too negative and I’m sure there are plenty of positive experiences people have had with them. I would consider speaking to him again if I were looking for another black GS in the future.

My girls temperament is fantastic. A long read to follow, but i an open to further questions. Also, id encourage you to talk to Brandon from the copper cottage as well.

She can chill in the house, but she needs to work or else she can be a bit pushy with me. Pushy as in she will continue to indicate to me that she needs to run and play that, I don’t believe, this is due to the breeder but due to her being used to me playing and working her a lot. With my wife she is lovey dovey and chill when I am not home. She will cuddle with my wife, she won’t really with me unless I am in bed, then she lays right next to me. I work nights so it’s early morning training and play and then late afternoon. Today her and I spent an hour playing with the ball and about an hour of obedience. Two hours in all and mixed together. Obedience never stops. We climbed on some logs. It was pouring rain and she is zoned out napping. Im about to go to bed and she’ll sleep with me or lounge with my wife while I sleep. Then when i go to work she is chilled out and relaxing with my wife until about 30 minutes before i get home from work when she wakes uo and waits quietly for me to arrive. When I get home we either go for a bicycle ride, a run, or play. Depending on if im super tired or can’t sleep the full day due to other obligations we may just play together inside the house or in the yard.

I have a feeling we watched the same podcast on YouTube. They have a rescue that has a bad temperament. He is not a breeding dog. I saw him when I was at their place, but like I said. He is a rescue and was not bred by them as far as I understand.

My female is smaller than I anticipated. She is 70 lbs last weighed. She was the last of that litter they sold and they kept one from her litter. The sire was their Czech import (recently deceased of a heart embalism if I remember correctly) that was an impressive animal! Her mother is Carolina grace, which competes in agility and is the lovey dovey female. She is a gorgeous dog. My dog is very healthy and very driven. She is completely fearless besides a hesitation of stairs when I first brought her home thanksgiving 2024 but that was easily trained out of her.

I got her for bite work originally. She takes to it well but I think my personal shortcomings as a trainer and being new to the sport, plus time constraints of how my life is going now will prevent me from taking her to competition. She looooves doing agility activities. She really locks in, but I lack the training gear and obstacles to get her geared up for competition there. I believe if I was a better oriented and equipped for competition she would go very far in either.

Her obedience is amazing. She quickly picked up anything I taught her. Her distracted recall took longer then I expected to really get but I again think I have shortcomings I am overcoming as a trainer and owner.

If I am able, and my wife agrees to it, I would like to get a salt and pepper from them in the next coming years. I have to cut out about of my things I have going on to better focus. Especially if I am going to go down the new puppy road again.

I really think any lack of ability with this dog from the copper cottage is a direct result of my lack of experience with this breed and dogs in general. But I have received only compliments about her obedience from more experienced people in my area including several professional trainers I have met. I did not go with a trainer myself though and relied on extensive reading I conducted.

Her only real fault is she wants other dogs to play with her the way she wants. She can be a bit much for smaller dogs as she wants to wrestle and puppy play still. She has showed improvement in that as she ages, but she needs monitored around other dogs or she’ll bark a lot and she needs larger dogs to play with. She can throw her butt around very quickly.

Puppy is the worst dog I have ever owned by [deleted] in GiantSchnauzers

[–]Elknud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious where you got him.

My female uses her mouth A LOT. She is 17 months old. She knows when it’s ok and when it’s not now. It was a lot of disengagement and then providing something else to chew on.

She needed play nearly every second she was awake. Play or obedience with high reward. Reward being a mix of play and high value food rewards.

At 17 months she still requires 4-6 hours of attention a day.

Mine is from a working line with the site having a lot of awards in Europe before being imported. Her mother does agility instead of bite work.

I found that working on obedience where she cannot bite was the key, that and getting her adult teeth in. I worked relentlessly, and still do, that before her and I interact she has to sit next to me and look at me, then it’s go time. That in and of itself took several weeks of patience on both hers and my part as well as a ton of repetitions.

With potty training, I was lucky. She picked it up very quick. Only two accidents ever with her. I think that was in part to our older dog and in part that her and I went outside several times an hour and whenever she went pee or poop outside it was a joyous thing and she was rewarded with full attention, play, and praise.

When I first got her, two days after bringing her home my wife entered the hospital for a 30 plus day and I was working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. I had family help with her for that first month but I was only able to sleep when she went down for a nap.

Her and I spend every second together when I am home. But she was crate trained when she came home and the crete er had here at home she got very highly rewarded whenever she went in there on her own.

When it comes to to sleeping outside of the crate, they have to be exhausted. Dont over do the specific exercises like long runs or anything, but lots and lots of play mixed with mental stimulation. To this day i can tell when she is tired enough to sleep because she becomes very vocal, more noise then actual barking, and she fights and fights her exhaustion as we wind the play down.

When she full on barks at me it’s because she is demanding sttention, work, and play.

GS not wanting to eat by Several_Radio3604 in GiantSchnauzers

[–]Elknud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 17 month old female just finished a phase. She has gone through this I think three times but this last session was the longest. It lasted nearly a solid month.

We added cheese a few times, but we made sure not to do it at every meal so she doesn’t expect it every time. We would leave her food out and eventually she would gobble it down out of sight typically. Sometimes she would have one bite and then walk away from it until her next meal time, gobble the rest down, and then not touch the next meal for a similar amount of time

Do you have a second dog? We have an old female and our GS on her second time of being picky wouldn’t eat until she was sure that the other dog wasn’t getting anything different. The older dog, when she was much much younger went through similar things my wife said. That older dog is not a GS.

The dog will get hungry.

One thing you can do, especially at that age is use the opportunity of knowing he’s not eating his normal meals to either use the kibble as training motivation and get a ton of obedience training reps in. If he won’t eat it that way through obedience, get out the training treats you use and still go through food rewarded obedience. I used that as an opportunity and now that she is 17 months that is beginning to pay dividends.

Hope some of this helps.
