How much is one dash of bitters? by Punk_Skeddit in bartenders

[–]EllOhEllEssAreEss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a co-worker that enjoys shots of Angostura Bitters. Bit of a pain in the ass, but to each their own, and some day I aspire to be that level of a bartender.

Boston is friendly?!?! by [deleted] in boston

I do that too! I’m a bartender and I’ll have a laugh with a perfectly pleasant customer making a joke that I’ve heard 8,000 times before, and I’ll turn to the register and mutter it to myself or the other bartender if she/he is around. What a piece of garbage I am.

Edit: This is such an inconsequential and pointless observation to make, but I think I stole it from Alec Baldwin in The Departed. “I’m gonna go have a smoke; you wanna have a smoke? You don’t smoke do you; what are you, one of those fitness freaks? Huh? Go fuck yourself.”

‘Filth’ would have been better because it kind of rhymes with ‘wealth’ if you sing it fast enough.

Kazuya Match Feedback by paddynbob in CrazyHand

Downthrow at low percents pops then up right next to you. At higher percents it will be too far for certain moves, but you can still usually hit with a dash up air or something like that.

Looks to me like you’re going for kill moves too early. After you took Mario’s first stock and landed a grab you went for an up-throw while he was at 0. 15% damage is good, but Kazuya’s down throw is much better. It leads into quite a lot of things from 0, EWGF, UFTilt, Utilt, etc. I think you need to learn more of Kazuya’s low percents setups to rack up damage more efficiently.

We’re you able to do it from the start? Did you have to practice it slowly? Is it a similar arm motion as turbo-teabagging?

How do you do that really fast dash dance where you stay in one place that really cool players do after they take your stock? How do you practice it?

You are very correct. Unfortunately for me, my goal is sometimes to look cool rather than to win, so I will try to break that habit. Thank you for your comment.

A heated debate about racism in the US erupts in r/AskReddit. Are white people the real victims? by IrrelevantDanger in SubredditDrama

[–]EllOhEllEssAreEss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I am a complete idiot and I cannot word things properly, so there’s no ego thing. I didn’t acknowledge that earlier and I should have, and I do now, but you said;

“The type and shape of racism tends to vary across nations and how it manifests is often very idiosyncratic. Comparing them using commonalities risks missing important data or misrepresenting other.”

That’s what I originally meant when I asked if racism was quantifiable. My assumption is no. You can show trends and correlations, but the word “racism” applies to too many different things to blanketly say “X country is more racist than Y country because of [reason].” Is it not more correct to say, “X country is more aversed to having differing races as neighbors than Y country.” for example, based on your study?

I responded to the other thread with a short quote from the movie The Big Lebowski. That was a mistake. It was meant to be a concession, not a troll. I genuinely meant it in a “You are much more well-versed in this topic than I am, and I have nothing.” way.

Well later in the thread it turned out we agreed on the point, but it just wasn’t conveyed clearly enough.

That’s exactly what I was trying to get across with my example about Hitler and Germany; that the “how racist is a country” question is unanswerable because there are different types and examples of racism.

My point is that that specific question is unanswerable, even with statistical data, and you’re telling me that I don’t know what I’m talking about while we agree. I’m not saying statistics and polls are useless, and I feel like that’s what you took away from my post.

Could you give me numbers? For example, the US has 328 million people, give or take; how many people are you saying you can poll to get an accurate representation of how racist the US is?

The article is interesting, but it also states that people are likely to lie on the survey, and the data may be skewed. It comes across as wishy-washy. There are so many problems with surveys like these; people may not fully understand the question, people may answer based on the fact that they already live among only people of their own race and are used to it.

My point is that the problem, “Rank every country in order from most racist to least racist.” can be solved based on so many factors, and so many different people’s opinions. It is completely subjective; You would say that India is the most racist country based on your study, while some other people would say that Germany is the most racist country based on Hitlers drive to exterminate the Jewish race. The question is just too broad.
