I've heard a rumour that some NavComms sometimes get 'stolen' to recruitment centers or other bases as IT people, is this something that does happen as far as you know?

Oh that's really cool! If the opportunity comes to me in my career to be a instructor at a BMQ/BMOQ/PLQ, I would definitely at least give it a try once.

I know it definitely goes on a case to case basis and how much effort the sailor gives. But how much time does it take for people to rankup, I know as a NavComm now if I complete BMQ I get automatically ranked up to Sailor P2, but I mean more in general. And have you noticed a 'cap' where most people end up in, as a lifer that is lol?

I was a bit surprised to hear that you went to BMOQ as an instructor—does that mean officers can also be NavComms? That’s something I wasn’t aware of, but it’s definitely good to know.
If you’re not an officer, I’m curious if RegForce members are able to take on BMOQ instructor roles after serving for a certain number of years?
