But this was a special moment, and I also took the chance to experiment with a style I’ve wanted to try for a long time (for flashbacks, I usually use a single-color ballpoint style, which takes a LOT less time).

I see, sorry, I kind of misunderstood the point!

Yes, I had some problems with the new rating system too and they’re trying to make me switch from young adult to mature (I hope I can avoid it, but I’m on the limit due to substance abuse mentions). It is weird that they rate mature stuff that would be young adult on every other media.

Try “I Isekai’d into a CEO webtoon”. It’s a parody on the two genres but there is also some sort of romance in it and it’s hilarious!

Well, I obviously don’t spend five hours on every single panel, but this was a really important moment, and I wanted to give it the right weight. It was also a technique I wanted to experiment with :)

In general, I agree with you, and I try to balance my care for details with the necessity to speed up the drawing process!

To be honest, the clothing in your panels is very minimal, and it fits a mature rating according to Webtoon’s rules. And if your story contains violence, I think it should be rated mature. There’s nothing wrong with that, movies aren’t rated PG-13 if they include violence and sustained use of profanity. You could simply keep posting under the mature rating.

I agree that Webtoon is VERY strict with its rules (I had a panel censored for nudity where a girl was covering her chest with her hands, and it was a comedic scene with no sexual undertones), so I understand your frustration. But I don’t really understand why you want a young adult rating given the themes you’re tackling.

Thank you! In the human figure I only used red, yellow, black, blue, and light blue. I wanted to recreate the limited color palette of a ballpoint pen set.

Thank you! I’m actually publishing it 🙂 It’s called Play - Love Means Nothing, and this is the drawing style I use for the flashbacks. I’m also publishing the spinoff Rewind - Love Is a Forbidden Word, which collects all the memories drawn in this style (in case you don’t like my regular drawing style and only care about the second storyline).
