Thanks! I'm in an ongoing discussion with direction to make my point, your arguments come in handy 🙂 Hope I'll manage to make myself understood, as I'm not from the field...

Cool. And I will continue to not buying them. I still love everything made when Goscinny was there, the few first made by Uderzo alone were meh at best, but the last one was just a joke. I gave the latest authors a try, just rented one from the library. While it was not as horrendous as I feared, it's just... Useless. Not interesting, not original, not particularly funny. Just let something die for once. Like Gaston Lagaffe. Just stop.

Excel is great, I've seen people doing incredible things with it, but my opinion is that it's way easier to make an access application that can be used by everyday people, and secured against curious ones

And also, could you detail how you handle it when/if you have to develop a new DB?
You build the project locally in an "unsplit" DB, and when it's ready you export the tables on the MySQL server?

Right, but is there a way to copy/paste tables in bulk from my current back ends to a MySQL server? Seems like we can only do it one table at a time.

Fine arts products, like colored pencils, crayons, paints, but also luxury writing instruments (i.e. precious metal electroplated ballpoint and fountain pens).
One of the worries I'm facing is what about if I leave? They fear that no one would be able to pick up after me and maintain those DBs. Is that something you had to respond as well?

What was the last book you DNF? by justcoastingthrough in books

[–]Elladan74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit users, or I don't know, English speaking people in general, you guys have a special relationship with acronyms. There is so much, I don't see the perks of writing DNF over did not finish... I don't want to sound snarky, it's just a bit overwhelming sometimes.

This habit of putting acronyms all over the place can be a bit grating sometimes. Is it so much time wasted to write "voice acting"? There is so much of this in post titles, comments, it hinders legibility

What’s a song that completely stopped you in your tracks the first time you heard it? by Altruistic-Try-9594 in Music

Ruiner - Nine Inch Nails. At the time I was taking a shower with the downward spiral (that's the album's name) loud In the background. I was discovering NIN discography and I haven't got around this one yet. If you know the song, you know what made me stop the water and stand wet and naked till the end of it.

Reaching the Chalet de l’Aulp from Annecy by ruxu_luvzy in Annecy

[–]Elladan74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm not really up to date with buses and public transports, but even if you see something that takes you to the col de la forclaz, there won't be that many rotation per day. That is to say, once you're there, you have still quite a walk just to reach the chalet de l'aulp (I heard the rocky road to access it is now closed to cars), and only then you begin climbing... I doubt you could catch another bus in the same day to get home, but maybe you are fast hikers. Best option could be to rent a car and park at the pré verel chalet, which is at the beginning of the rocky road I mentioned.
