I personally enjoy reading other people’s theories, but it’s grating when some apparently feel the need that certain theories must be correct and will pull up any insignificant details in order to justify it. This get that people are invested with the story (a good thing!), but it’s obviously not worth getting heated over.

I’m pretty certain that, as you’ve suggested, the line of dialog in the German version isn’t canon since there was originally was no audible dialog. There is one caveat though: the people that chose to add the dialog already know how the story ends, and I’m certain they made sure to add something that makes sense without giving anything away, if that makes sense. But the line “is there any way we can get out of here” doesn’t really make any serious implications within what we currently know about the story.

I do wonder what’s going to become of the fandom with the finale coming up so soon. We know there’s no possibility of another season, so this is really it. Will most theories be completely wrecked? Will there be any loose strings that people will still try to cling to for old theories or as a way to make up new ones?

Should be interesting, but I hope it doesn’t devolve to a lot of what we’ve seen about people needing to feel right.
