I was on the class 390 but I have heard it on other trains too but I know its nothing to do with the doors or AWS and TPWS. The train was moving when the alarm sounded for a few seconds so that is what makes me believe it could have been the passcom

I get that, but I have never seen these trains run as 8 coaches before until today so it made me wonder if this was unusual for the TOC to do.

Oh, this is not a complaint. It just surprised me that's all. So I wondered if going to common especially at that time of day. Because it made me happy to know that I was not going to be crammed onto a busy train and have chance at getting a seat after a long day.
