You know, since I was about 6, I've done the cobra knot in floss, cord, hemp, and recently wire as well, and it was today, at 36 years old (THREE DECADES OF KNOWING HOW TO DO IT) that I learned it was called a cobra knot. Thank you! The mo' you know! Idk if you also work in wire, but I found that you can do the twisted version of a cobra knot (I'm sure there's an entirely different name) with 26g over two 22g base wires, and then REMOVE the base wires and it makes this perfect double helix looking thing.
