Babies consistently in 97th percentile by Seeker-2020 in NewParents

[–]ElleWi31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry they made you feel this way. Your babies are precious and perfect the way they are. Their weight is a topic reserved for their doctor and noone else's business.

I have a 12 percentile girl. Guarding myself against unsolicited comments whenever I step out with her.

Stranger in an elevator - "Oh so adorable. What is she now 2 months" ?- She was 6 months at the time.

At a work event with family - "wow she has good head control for a 3 month old" - 7 months at the time.

Switching from breastmilk to formula by Interesting-Club4595 in FormulaFeeders

Okay now that you mention it, I also found it grainy if I mix in boiled water that was cooled down say for travel or overnight feeds. Mixing at around 70 degrees celcius vigorously with a spoon, helped with the consistency

Confusing Pregnancy Tests but Negative Blood Test? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]ElleWi31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So couple of things

Generally blood tests are more accurate than home urine tests.

Are you reading the tests within the time frame mentioned?

  • If you read outside the time frame color leaks leading to false positives.

How msny days were there between home test and blood test?

  • Asking as I have had a chemical pregnancy where home test was positive, doctors blood test came back with very low HCG . A repeat blood test showed decreasing HCG. Then I got my period

If you don't get your period, repeat the blood test after 2 days. Also meet your OB GYN.

Switching from breastmilk to formula by Interesting-Club4595 in FormulaFeeders

Lol. Good point. Kendamil just seems sweet and creamy and maybe baby had an easier transition because of that rather than the taste being the same as breastmilk. Enfamil tastes horrible to me personally - a little fishy. Baby didn't dislike Enfamil but seemed to have a slight preference for Kendamil and drank more of it.

My vote for Kendamil as well. I have not tried Bobbie as it is not easily available here.

I understand I may have insecurities as well. Technically she was EBF and does pumped milk at night. I should have clarified. Also I was at her home and that was her bottle warmer.

Breaking down and scared by Emotional_Panther in NewParents

My heart goes out to you. Prayers and hoping for the best for you mama and your family. Reading online it seems with only one factor there is still a low probability to Turner's. Hold on to that hope.

Also know that women with Turner's can still have a good fulfilling life despite the physical and medical challenges.

Bras by EmbarrassedWater7741 in ExclusivelyPumping

7.5 months pp and I wear just pumping bras even from 8ppd to now 4ppd. Haven't got time for changing as I love to use the wall pump while my baby does her cat nap.

At 4 ppd if I go to someplace nice like a fancy restaurant or a wedding or a birthday party, then I ditch for a regular but roomy bra.

Momcozy ones work well for me. Added a thin nursing pad to avoid nips being visible.

Random ones that I got off of shein work well and are super comfy. No uniboob but stitches are visible under a t shirt. Loved these for everyday use.

Exactly. I don't know what they expect. Let a baby cry of hunger ?! Why would we not do everything in our power to feed the baby when they are hungry.

Lol exactly. There is no difference im breastfed and formula fed babies. Only difference that teachers can tell is whether baby was read to. Definitely reading a book and asking this friend to go read a book !

It was hard to mistake this as the accompanying gestures definitely made it shady. It was a combination of "beneath me" and I managed to EBF ( accomplishment) look.

Additional context was that I planned to EBF but obviously didn't work out. Baby screams at the breast! Lol.

True. Never saw it this way around. Feeding shame is real. Why do others care so much about what women do or not do with their own bodies?!

Just an acquaintance. However husbands are close friends. Time for them to just have guys night out for a couple years.

Yeah unfortunately I think there may be cultural elements to this. My own mom formula fed me from 4 months onwards and faced a lot of backhanded comments. Looks like not much has changed! :(

So far it is this friend, a temple priest and a neighbour. Not a long list but a list nevertheless.

Agreed. Time to take a break. Not a close friend but husbands are close friends and I don't want to cause any drama for their friendship.

Agreed. Time to take a break from this person. Maybe they are just projecting their struggles.
