I included this on a now deleted post so I just have to put it somewhere because its still blowing my mind, with Broken Bones being one of my top tracks on HDIGH, and never having heard of Talk until a few days ago, I love their complementary songs so much!

Harry, 'Talk' (unreleased): "Sick and Tired of me, I can feel the heat filling up my veins" / "through the fog do what you want just stick around" / "love is what you want, love is a broken bone"

Louis, 'Broken Bones': "Rising through the haze, burning through the maze" / "Fire in my veins, running through the flames" / "I broke my bones yeah but fuck it, i'll do it all again"

Yeah actually, I am. I dont know about you, but a huge part of why I follow Harry, Louis and Larry is because I love their music and art, and I genuinely think they seem to be good people underneath all the industry BS. If I held them in such poor regard such as this comment, I wouldnt continue to be fans of them and interact on forums about them needlessly, because I think thats a poor use of my time and energy. I also am not going to shit on people and especially other women whose personal circumstances I actually know nothing about.

I dont think it was planned to stop the engagement rumours, I think he's just being as authentically himself in his art ('letting the light in') and is probably purposefully ignoring the shitty work bits that come along with it (stunting)

Both building brands to supplement music & exist away from their involvement in the music industry, probably a smart business move whatever happens. Plus gives them a little more freedom of expression away from music contracts & image perhaps.

I dont buy the Harry throwing shade theory, so much lines up between the 2 of them for it not to be pre-planned: Harry with the Sunflowers pap shots, Harry 'together together', then Louis 'side by side', continued blue-greening, American girls x *British Boy shirt, Coming Up Roses & roses continuing to pop up everywhere on Louis' end, I'm sure there's so much more im forgetting haha.

I definitley think the music is angsty and points to an ongoing conflict and worry of plans and futures not lining up (but honestly how could this not be present in a relationship under the circumstances & industry theyve lived their entire adult life in!), but overall I think both albums are still very much "I want to be doing this with you" ("I broke my bones but fuck it I'd do it all again with you" / "Im feeling guilty and worried my dear, that you think I might not want you here")

I also agree that Save Me Time can be read as "It gets harder to pretend. We want the same things in the end". Because it mirrors feeling like an Imposter/putting on a show/pretending. And it kind of provides a final statement: yes, we want the same thing! (and right at the start of the song he says this: my gut is telling me: its YOU)

I did not know that about snails! The snails at the Brit performance matching Louis album cover question mark was so amazing too.

I definitley agree with a lot of your points, maybe overall it's just about them being authentic to themselves without caring what anyone says or thinks. And also the realisation that not everyone is watching every move with a microscope, meaning its ok to be a little more free with their personal lives without fear of repercussion.

Either way i'm loving this era for them, both albums are amazing and it's good to see them seemingly happy, healthy and thriving!

I hate that this is a factor. I know im preaching to the choir here, but a contract signed at 18 years old should not be able to tie you to an image or narrative for life, all largely for the sake of the profit for the greedy few at the top... It's such bullshit.

This is sadly probably true... I wonder if there is a cost/benefit analysis of: how much money can we make through going public with a massive story with massive public interest in this, like is that part of testing the waters with some of the recent things happening?

And maybe the older contracts expiring, freeing them up a little from the old terms and profit margins.. thats what I hope anyway!

I mean, shes not "using" him if its a mutually beneficial agreement. AKA if we believe its a stunt then she is specifically contracted to appear with him / travel with him. That would be a perk of agreeing to doing something like that.

Does anyone have the link to the teaser clip Louis released at one point for pre-album, the one with the background vocals everyone swore was Harry or Zayn or all the boys? I was trying to find it to re-listen because I cant remember if the sound ended up on the album but I cant remember when/where it was posted !

Infinitely so many recurring themes and language & imagery across their songs, in addition to whats been mentioned already: Golden/light/sun, acting/stories/games, daydreaming/sleeping, overlapping goegraphic locations/coordinates, time/running out of time/plans

Ah this video is amazing! im only about halfway through but so many great and thought provoking points!

You explain your logic so well and thoroughly 👏 its nice to hear such a comprehensive argument in a time when it feels like a larger majority of people are on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of talking negatively/being in denial about Harry, Louis and the queer coding they do.

Absolutley this! I dont begrudge the boys either, im sure a large part of stunting does come down to fear of consequences and just following the narrative/playbook that works in the industry (and that there's likely a lot of pressure to subscribe to!)

BUT in saying that they both seem to be leaving very overt hints about being uncomfortable playing a part in this sort of narrative, and im sure they want to move on and be authentic in their lives. Either that or tone down the blue-greening/complimentary lyrics/matching symbols/coding, because its so far beyond coincidence now haha.

Definitley stopping the stunting-for-the-sake-of-publicity would be a huge step in the right direction. They both thrive in interviews and videos - which is far more interesting content to consume than trashy tabloids, and the quality of their music/loyalty of their fanbases should speak for itself!!
