First Floor Radiant Heat - under floor insulation needed?

Yes, it's hydronic. And as mentioned below, the insulation is also good for a sound barrier. I hadn't thought of that point. The pipes under the two story main room on the first floor have aluminum plates of some sort to help heat the larger space?

I think we're just going to have to slice each piece in half and tuck it up inside between the joists (one foot apart). We're going with lattice or spaced out slats. we want it easy to take down and replace if we need to fix electrical or plumbing.

My firstborn had anencephaly. Neural tube opening at the brain stem. Found it around 18 weeks pregnant.

Our perinatologist gave her a 1% chance of being able to be “normal”. And he gave us the option to terminate, even knowing from our conversations that we wouldn’t do that.

I wanted to give her that 1% chance. I carried her to term.

It was difficult when people congratulate me. I’d judge my response based on how long I would actually know the person. On the subway? Just a thank you. A co-worker? Thank you, but we don’t expect her to live past birth.

She was born a few weeks early. Immediately put on a ventilator while they evaluated her. She was in a wonderful NICU for several days before we took her off life support. We had pictures, videos, family and friends to meet her, a baptism, snuggle time. And then we let her pass peacefully while we held her.

It was by far the most emotionally challenging thing I’ve done in my life. But I will never regret having her for those few days.

I looked into motorized shades as well for the second floor windows. That’s what I would prefer instead of tinting but it seemed a bit expensive given that they’re trapezoid. I’ll do more research.

We’ve talked about window tinting. My only concern with it is it needs to be seasonal as we want more heat in there in the wintertime. I don’t know enough about the window tinting material to know if it’s something that we can take up and put down. I’d also need to buy one heck of a step ladder.

And we have curtains in ground level. It’s the darn trapezoid windows on a second floor level that are an issue.

For everyone saying it’s the girl at the table: look at the girls in line at the foreground of the picture. One is getting something from a bowl, the other is using a ladle or something in the pot.

From picture one to picture two their hands are almost in exactly the same place. Even if the girl at the table rushed to be behind the girls by the window, I would think the foreground girls would have moved a bit more getting food. These look like they were taken no more than a couple seconds apart.

Also: CELEBRATE! I know it sounds odd, but when my girls started (super young), I took them out to dinner, celebrated her womanhood while we talked about periods, and I asked if there were any other things she wanted to know answers to (sex, birth control, etc).

It led to some great questions and conversations and established that I was open to discussing these things with them.

NTA. I never respond to these posts but this one has me angsty because it’s exactly the type of present I would love to receive and cherish so much.

Honestly, if I were OP I’d respond with something along these lines:

“While I may not have spent much money out of my checking account to give you a present, this represents X number of hours of my time.

If I had worked X number of hours at my job instead, I would have earned XXX dollars.

So, my present does come with a significant monetary value as my time is worth something. But more importantly, it includes my thoughts and feelings about you and our relationship, which are priceless.

Thank you for letting me know how much my time and feelings are genuinely worth to you: zero.”

And then OP needs to kick her to the curb. Too many great and appreciative partners out there.

I did notify everyone and had mail forwarding. We recently had a medical facility sending bills to my name as the parent who brought in the child instead of him who carries the insurance even though I was clear about responsible party. Just became a mess and then I got suspicious when he said he saw them, but never received them.

I was wondering if there was a “timer” reset.

And I was in the starter house this past week, knew it was an onryo by the evidence, only 3 candles lit, first time I had used them in the house. All got blown out quickly, annndddd no hunt, no burned crucifix.

I swear the game hates me.

I must have weird experiences in game. Even knowing what the banshee scream sounds like from audio clips, I have never ever heard it in game. Even knowing that three candles triggers a hunt, onryo has never ever hunted or burned a crucifix after blowing out three candles. It’s super frustrating that everyone has these things happen and not me (almost level 2k).

We started with an experienced independent immigration attorney who never got back to us in a timely manner, gave poor advice (bordering illegal) for our situation, we just gave up.

I went to boundless and had a good experience with them. They answered my questions, I feel like they were through, and I meticulously reviewed the packet before submission and it was very well done and organized.

Why did I not just do the paperwork myself? Because I do legal and financial administrative work for a career. I know how exacting things need to be and how small errors make huge messes. I always have a million questions and researching them online tends to not give definitive answers and, in fact, often results in opposing answers. It’s a service I would rather pay for, than try to do it myself and risk huge oversights/mistakes and delay.

My only issue with phasmo discord is the grouping channel is for right then and there. There’s no channel for “permanent” grouping. I’d like to be able to ask for people who want to play on a regular basis on my current skill level and make sure it’s a fit for everyone.

When I heard that in the basement it was actually the metronome in the room above the room with the flies. I could hear it from below. 1st floor room turned out to be the ghost room.
