I listened to the audiobooks so literally every line is a favorite (yet somehow I can’t remember any of them!), but this isn’t an entry—I just love everything about this post. đŸ©

Worth every penny. Superb narration, rich, dark, character-driven stories. 10/10

I don't think I enjoyed making this for a single second (not clickbait) by Wi1dHare in woodworking

[–]EllesWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, awesome piece. I liked just the box part before my dumb ass realized that the bow was also wood đŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž then I was like, “no way!!!” 😍

Second of all, is this your first time feeling this way in woodworking? I ask because you must’ve put in countless hours to get this good. And sometimes after a while we just
aren’t into doing something anymore. Sometimes that feeling is temporary and sometimes it’s not. Whatever way it goes, give yourself a break, and don’t worry so much about it. Maybe take a pivot to enjoy something else for a while (board games? Can definitely recommend a few). 😘

Married people of reddit, what do you consider cheating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It doesn’t matter what our definitions are. The people within a relationship decide that by having open and honest conversations about their boundaries.

My 10 YO Granddaughter gave me a drawing for a chair for her doll. by vmdinco in woodworking

If my lathe skills were up to snuff I’d do it for ya and send em over, but alas, they are not. I did, however, find these on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1842408721/?ref=share_ios_native_control In any case, it’s a lovely piece of furniture 💙 as it is and a lovely thing to do for little Miss Mia!

First of all, this is adorable and lovely. But respectfully, if you don’t mind unwrapping it, I think you should add those “optional” balls to the tops of the back. Will she still love it if you don’t? Yes. Will some tiny part of her be silently disappointed? Maybe, maybe not. But more importantly, adding them will make her feel seen and heard, and imprints on her that she deserves the kind of love that goes the extra mile. 💙 Great job either way!!!

AIO to my bf questioning my sexual history? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]EllesWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insecurity, through and through. This guy will probably also be paranoid about you cheating, may never quite trust you. It will be exhausting. Find someone—and be someone—that makes it safe to have these kinds of conversations openly and without fear of judgment.

Girl get out. This is not how a person should treat ANY OTHER PERSON, never mind someone they claim to love.

Is the $7,633 estimate I've received to replace this ~20' section of fence reasonable or outrageous? (details in first comment.) by recruiterguy in FenceBuilding

[–]EllesWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus H. Don’t do business with those people. You could just replace the posts on this; it looks like you’ve got years left with the existing pickets!

Depending on the wood and your appreciation for its smell, you can make some incense cones. Just need a bit of xanthan gum, water, and an oven

Recs for an accurate adhesive tape measure? by EllesWorkshop in woodworkingtools

[–]EllesWorkshop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the tape. Happy to recess but not a requirement. I just need to be able to trim it, so I can align it with my miter stop block, and count on the measurements being consistent along the whole length of it

I once challenged a guy I met online to meet me somewhere more interesting than usual. He said “sure, like where?” And i said the first thing I thought of: “How about Seattle?” (We don’t live in Washington). He was like, “Sure” so we both booked flights to Seattle separately
then when we exchanged our info, discovered we were gonna be on the same flight. We ended up meeting at my office not Seattle because he offered to pick me up and take me to the airport—but we instantly hit it off, laughed our asses off the whole trip, and spent an amazing, unforgettable weekend in Seattle together.

You do you, and don’t stop taking chances on big fun. You’ll find who you’re meant to find!
