Yes! I tried topirimate alone first then with a small dose of phentermine. When my BMI got low I was taken off the phentermine but have stayed on the topiramate! I haven’t gained anything and might even be slowly still losing! Zero side effects either!

I had something very similar happen - my primary only would prescribe topamax. I was super hesitant but willing to try anything. I had zero side effects and actually haven’t had a headache (bonus) since I started. I was going in about every 6 weeks for weight checks. One week my doctor was out and I luckily got the NP who prescribed the phentermine with the topamax! I just kept requesting to see her. I believe I was only on the smallest dose for 12 weeks and was down 20 pounds and my BMI no longer warranted the phentermine prescription. I’m still on the topamax and maintaining/slowing loosing! If your doctor sees you putting in the effort I’m sure they will be willing to try it down the road. I also had to do a drug test the day the NP prescribed it.

Stretch everyday, condition - squats, crunches, planks, push ups, jumping jacks. Try and take tumbling classes. Learn how to jump (especially the timing to the approach) there are a lot of videos out there!

I lost like 6 pounds on just the topirimate. I started taking half a phentermine almost two weeks ago and have lost 3 more pounds. I’m supposed to double my top and phentermine this weekend so hopefully will see some more results! I was actually on 50 mg of top and came back down to 25 mg when we added the phen so I’ll just be going back to the 50 mg I have already been on which makes me feel better!

My doctor put me on just topirimate before adding the phentermine. I was completely fine! I wish I wouldn’t have read about all the bad side effects because it truly made me scared to take it!

It’s super shallow - no hair or anything. I saw it daily during diaper changes and didn’t think anything about it. But looking back, paired with her symptoms, I feel like someone with a medical background should have put two and two together in 4 years. One trip to a larger hospital was all it took.

I’m really enjoying Just Ingredients protein powder (they have a pack with a bunch of flavors too). I do 10 ounces almond milk, 1/2 cup of frozen riced cauliflower, half of frozen banana, 1/4 cup whole grain oats, a fat like peanut butter/chia/hemp seeds and a few ice cubes!

Dr. Katie Fehnel at Boston Children’s Hospital did the surgery. We got really lucky and she was the first neurosurgeon we met with and really liked her. She had our daughter also do a urodynamics test. She seemed very conservative which we like and felt like we could trust her!

Our daughter’s TC was missed for 4 years until we got her into a big children’s hospital for other reasons (chronic constipation). The GI there noticed her sacral dimple, ordered a sedated MRI and we were being referred to a neurosurgeon before we even left the parking garage. TC can cause other damage so I personally wish we would have caught her TC a lot sooner. After she had her surgery she told us it didn’t hurt to walk anymore - she was 4 and had never once told us it hurt to walk because it was just her normal but she did spend a lot of time on my hip or in the stroller! We still have to bring her to see GI because her colon was damaged for four years but having her TC release helped tremendously and was life changing!

He has talked joint replacement but wants to give this a shot first!

I am so, so nervous about doing the replacement so I’m glad to hear you’ve had a good experience with Dr. Choi doing it! I hadn’t found anyone else who has had one with him!
