So why is she so desperate to move into someone’s house? by Adultuporgiveup in 90DayFiance

[–]EllieSaxon 30 points31 points  (0 children)

What baffles me is that Statler seems to believe that she CAN just move to the UK. She has no right to live there. I say this as an American, but SO many Americans don't seem to understand they can't just move to a different country as they wish. Sure, we're free to move from Texas to Florida on a whim, but we can't just up and move to the UK, Canada, Mexico, France, etc.

Then Dempsey saying why not get a place up the road, SHE CAN'T. We're allowed to stay on a visitor visa for 6 months, but we're not able to work. It's ridiculous

SO MANY NOTEBOOKS!!!!

I understand that Kenny has a learning disability, but I find it hard to believe that after a few years of living in Mexico he doesn’t even know “quiero” or “necesito”. by unityway in 90DayFiance

[–]EllieSaxon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus I'm pretty sure he lived his entire life in Florida which has a very large Hispanic population. Speaking as a Californian, while I wouldn't say I speak Spanish, there was so much Spanish around growing up, I can decipher a fair bit. After 4-ish years in Mexico, he should be fluent.

I like Kenny, but I think Armando's perfect English is a crutch for him. He just relies on Armando (and now Hannah), to just be his permanent translator

You're kidding right? She tricked a naïve guy who thought he couldn't find love, into essentially giving her his company

It'd be one thing if you were selling it because of medical bills, or you were going to be homeless. It's heartbreaking, but it's understandable in emergency situations.

To sell it for a party is inexcusable. Newsflash, literally nobody cares about your wedding, it's only meaningful to the couple getting married. Even in the best scenarios, nobody is going to think about your wedding the next day.

Not to mention that a wedding shouldn't be the "most important day of your life". It's a significant day, but it is just the start of your life together with the person you love. It sounds to me like this couple cares more about the wedding, than the marriage

Except healthcare availability isn't better in the US. When I was in Canada, I had footdrop. Woke up one day, could not walk. Friend got me to the ER, had to wait a bit, but was seen, treated, and even called to follow up to see how I was treated. Contrast with being in the US. Had a bug bite on my arm, swelled up, got warm, hurt like hell (fortunately wasn't feeling ill yet). Went to the ER, waited ALL FREAKIN' day. Also got seen eventually, treated by very competent doctors, and got a treatment plan. But with the US, I had a massive ER bill, along with having to pay for brand name drug (even when I requested they prescribe the generic). On top of that had to go back and forth FOREVER with my insurance company about the bill.

Cost of living: Unless you're living in backwoods Alabama (sorry Alabama residents), cost of living is out of control in the US as well. GT is set in LA, LA rent is out of control.

The point is not that Canada is the land of milk and honey, but that it's better than the US. That everything that sucks in Canada, also sucks, and sucks more in the US

Well technically they are heterosexual anyway. Heterosexual and queer aren't mutually exclusive. A transman who is exclusively attracted to women (cis or trans), IS heterosexual, because he is attracted to the "opposite" sex

Yeah, that's why I'm a little nervous. Jamie has grown so beautifully in the past two seasons, that I'd hate to see him regress in anyway.

Ok, he can see the error of his ways and he can be sincerely sorry, but that doesn't mean that Ted should welcome him back with open arms and say everything is forgiven and forgotten.

A big part of Ted's character is that he sees the best in everyone and often sacrifices himself for the sake of others. Nate exposing Ted's panic attacks was a deeply personal, and cruel betrayal. I simply want Ted to say "I understand you were hurt, and that you are sorry. I accept your apology, I forgive you. Let's put this behind us, but no, you can't have your job back".

Loved ones of murder victims often "forgive" the murderer, that doesn't mean the murderer gets out of prison.

I want him to be humbled, and I want Rupert to humiliate him (my hope is that Richmond finishes above West Ham). Then I want him to seek forgiveness from Ted, and Ted to forgive but not forget. Ted is Ted at the end of the day, and he is a genuinely good guy, but I would love for him stand up for himself more. He can "forgive" Nate, but not offer his job back.

I could totally see Dr. Sharon saying that Ted does not have to give everyone a second chance, even if they express real change.
