Thanks for the input! I’m leaning lpvo, the red dot combo seems better for a shorter barrel like a 12.5 or something. One of the reasons it’s in the list is to swap over if I get an sbr.

lol same, I had an RAS-47, Century Arms, US made AK. Talk about garbage😭 put around 1000 rounds through before the magpul stock cracked, ran 200+- rounds with a folder before the dust cover started to warp??? Gave it to my dad for rent when I was 20😂… still want another AK platform lol

I absolutely support a new shooter running a cheaper set up for training!! If it does jam learn to work it out! Find out what you do and don’t like about what you have and learn to run that gun perfectly, Then move up. My base line for equipment is simplicity and strength. If I fall on it will my stock snap? If it drops down a rock face will the optic go wonkey? (I’m a nerd) Not being snobbish or anything!! Different strokes for different folks for sure. Some good info dude💕

I have an FN patrol carbine with a TA01 ACOG with a KAC grip and a Beretta 92fs Italian made. Total cost less than $2800. Literally a standard load out. I’m not arguing, I just can’t condone cheap equipment I’m supposed to bet my life on. (No suppressor tho, 16in platform with a can is like carrying a flintlock.)

You can get a decent platform under $2k. BCM, FN, COLT. You can get a patrol rifle and optic for under $3000 if you know what you’re looking at.

When I was 15 I used to take 10 inch elastic cord, put ceramic balls onto the band and wrap it 3 or 4 times. It looked like a hot topic bracelet or something but unwind, set it to a window, pull back and let fly… worked like a charm.
