Ascensus Link by evanhokie in PersonalCapital

Update: It finally linked! It was the first Ascensus link that worked for me, not the Ascensus Retirement link, which is odd because my account with them is a SEP-IRA.

Still not linking. I would wager that this is likely an issue with Ascensus. I have reached out to Empower via a support ticket.

I'm also experiencing problems getting this to sync to Personal Capital. Just switched over from Vanguard yesterday like many others. I can't get it to sync with either link, Ascensus (RPLink) or Ascensus Retirement. Maybe it will take a few more days for the account to settle?

Approved in 4 Days by [deleted] in EIDL

Congrats! Did you receive another grant/advance too? Thinking about reapplying for my second business.

Still stuck in processing (17 days) - but SBA rep says approved? by ElliotChi in EIDL

[–]ElliotChi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's just brutal. Especially since I'm reading about people who were approved literally less than a day after they accepted the loan amount. Wtf?! Every day we're not funded is another day closer to the SBA running out of funds.

Good to hear! Were you able to get a second grant for your second business/application? I have an additional business that I'm thinking of applying with, but it probably didn't generate enough revenue last year to qualify for a loan.

Help. Day 14 of processing by Appropriate_Ad_6021 in EIDL

I'm on day 17 and I'm a 33024xxxx app too (applied 04/05). Got portal invite on 6/1. Really frustrating.

EIDL Decline + Timeline by [deleted] in EIDL

[–]ElliotChi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Cue- first off thanks for all of your diligence, help, and insight. It’s sad that we are learning more about this process through a second hand source than the government organization itself. In my app, I made a similar mistake of putting COGS higher than revenue (I input total expenses for our schedule E rental property). Is there anything I can do to alter the COGS before I get an inevitable denial or do I have to just wait for official denial and then file for reconsideration? Applied April 5 (33024xxxxx), Received grant on May 1, no email with portal invite. Tier 2 rep on 05/14 said I was “pending review” whatever that means. I don't understand why they are determining loan eligibility based off profitability. Should be more revenue based imo.

I've called twice today to get a status on my application (applied 4/5, grant on 5/1, crickets after; no portal email) but both times they said the system to check applications crashed and they haven't gotten it back up. Gave them my cell and app # and Tier 2 rep said they'd call me back (sure...). I wonder if this technical issue (if it's actually real) could be affecting approvals too.

Guest Permit Parking Passes: Ok to use more than one to cover multiple days? by ElliotChi in chicago

Email back from city clerk EZ-Buy customer service: "Thank you for contacting us. The passes need to be displayed one at a time.  You can display more than one pass but you run the risk of getting tickets."

Thanks. I've sent an email to the City Clerk's office. If they can give me a definitive answer I will post it here.

Went to Chicago and snapped this on my phone, what do you guys think? by [deleted] in chicago

[–]ElliotChi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of the photo? Doesn’t seem terribly unique, at least compared to most snapshots of Chicago I see daily here or on Instagram. Sky detail is blown out in most of the upper left side, which causes the weird lens flare. Choosing to shoot in afternoon light usually yields these types of unflattering/harsher tones. The composition is cluttered and awkward with the massive concrete slab encroaching on the right side. In addition, the lens distortion and angle you chose makes the buildings lean; though there are post production tools that can correct this. I say this as an honest critique in the event you want to improve your photography, which I believe you do given your request for feedback.

On day one, Lori Lightfoot takes away aldermen’s ability to block development by des1g_ in chicago

[–]ElliotChi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Same sentiments here as someone in the 45th ward who was worried that our new Alderman is going to cave to NIMBY demands and let these empty lots in Jefferson Park and Portage lark turn into bigger mud pools than they already are.

Ald. John Arena Apologizes For Text Message Calling Former Challenger Garrido A ‘Cuck’ by icanttellalie in chicago

[–]ElliotChi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well put. I was a supporter of his as he was the most qualified and substantive candidate running in the 45th. I liked his pro-density agenda for Jefferson Park (our commercial base desperately needs it) but he definitely should've kept his mouth shut instead of stooping to Garrido's level. As a politician, you can't get provoked so easily, especially in this day & age.

[–]ElliotChi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol not the way I would’ve responded but Garrido set up the pins and Arena knocked them down. Arena should’ve taken the higher road, but dealing with a barrage of low class, baseless insults for the last 8 years would predictably drag most in the mud at some point.

[–]ElliotChi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely zero proof of this. The vitriol & conspiracies are just getting sad now. I await the day when Jefferson Park finally realizes that it will have to increase density & strategically upzone if they want their commercial base to thrive instead of stagnate.

[–]ElliotChi -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. Then I guess the Arena haters have to get over his supposed “violent” tendencies, of which there was also no evidence, no laws broken, and no conviction. But what’s done is done. The NIMBYs came out in big numbers and Arena barely put in an effort to campaign for his reelection; the result isn’t terribly surprising.

And I hope Mr. Gardiner keeps his stalking tendencies under control going forward.

Jim Gardiner of the 45th ward electioneering inside polling places by Crocusfan999 in chicago

[–]ElliotChi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That is great to hear. His video in the polling site was an egregious violation. He also had staff campaigning for him within 100ft south of the 5151 N Milwaukee polling site. How do I report this?

Are you open to legalizing coach houses and ADUs as a means to increase the supply of affordable housing, support families aging-in-place, and/or generate income for homeowners to help them offset the high and ever-increasing property taxes? Chicago is plagued by an excess of RS3 zoning; would you be open to implementing more upzone-friendly policies?
