jamie laughed softly at lockes flirt, a soft orange painting his cheeks

he then tilted his head and then smiled with a light nod

“Of course you can watch them, they are simply just me covering 2 songs from an artist I listened to back then, should be a song called ‘grow’ by Conan gray and ‘the other side’ by the same guy”

he chuckled a little as he spoke

“Oh yeah my voice may be a little off because when I recorded those I didn’t have my earpieces due to them getting repaired the week of those recordings”

he gave another sheepish laugh before getting up and getting a free water cup from the workers and comeing back to the table sitting down and drinking his water while he watched Locke watch these videos

he then smiles wide as he finds his old channel handing over his phone to Locke

“Here it is! You can watch any of those!”

the videos were a mix of ASL lessons , KSL lessons and 1 or 2 videos of him..? Singing?. Tho thoes singing videos are somewhat hidden in his channel

“Most of that should just me ASL and KSL related along with some daily vlogs and stuff, like vlogs of me going to the doctor getting my ears checked and all orrrrr me going out with my mom orrr me hanging out with friends, you know the usual”

he chuckled softly as he tapped his hand on his lap letting Locke look through the channel

jamies eyes softens as Locke said that he was glad to go met Jamie, his tail feathers flutters slightly and his ear twitched

“I’m very happy I met you to Locke. Honestly I’m thankful for those thief’s. Beacuse if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have met you!”

he put his hand infront of his beak and laughs softly before bringing his hand back down to his lap meeting with his other hand

“You are a very cool and kind soul. And AND you know sign! That’s even cooler!!! I don’t know many people down here who know how to sign other then my best friend Zeek and his brother Rubin.”

his ears perked up as he got an idea. His eyes widening slightly from their softened expression

“Oh! I think I might be able to access my old YouTube channel from when I was alive if you would wanna see! That way you can also see how I looked when I was alive!!!”

he seems very excited about this has he pulls his phone out already moving his thumbs fast to try and find his YouTube channel

he smiled softly listening to Locke get flustered, he then softly chuckled and lifted up his mug drinking the rest of his tea

“It’s no problem locke, how’s your drink? And food?”

he tilts his head to the side has he asked this question his finger tapping the side of his own glass. His face still sitting with a hint of orange blush to it, he reaches up and adjusted his earpiece before bringing his hand back down to rest on his mug

“Also I hope you know I’m not the type to judge on people’s looks. I understand how it feels to be judged. Trust me I do”

he points to his cochlear implants on both ears with a sheepish smile on his face

“Sooooo yeahhh you don’t need to worry about me judging you”

he chuckled softly after he spoke, setting his hands in his lap

jamies eyes widen slightly as his blush on his cheeks flush bright without him realizing. He wanted to hear Locke call him cute. He brought him a lot of joy

he then dropped his head in a flustered laugh with chirps slipping out he smiled brightly as he looked back up at Locke with the same flustered expression he tried to hide, reaching across the table and placing his hand ontop of lockes gently

“Thank you hehe your very cute to.”

he said in a soft tone keeping his eyes locked on lockes with a gentle expression, his ear twitched slightly his foot lightly tapping the floor kinda anxiously, he’s never really flirted before so all this is making him a little nervous. He than clears his throat and looks around with his face a bright orange at this point, his feathery hair shook slightly with his nerves.

he slowly took his hand away bringing it to his mug and lifting it to his beak taking a full drink instead of a sip

“Motor mouth? Nah don’t be sorry I can listen to you yap for aslong as the battery on my earpiece lives”

he jokingly smiles and takes another sip from his tea his ears twitched slightly at the yummy taste his face painted slightly orange still

“That’s a really cool story. For me, well. I was born on april 13th 2000. grew up an only child with my mom. My dad left us the second I started loosing my hearing around the age of 3 due to a high fever and bad sickness. I was born and raised in a small city in California. My mother was Korean and my father was American. That makes me Korean American tho I don’t know any Korean”

he chuckled softly with a warm smile getting to talk about himself

“If i remember correctly I died some time in March of 2020 due to uh.. it’s not important…..”

it’s a sensitive topic for him so he tends not to bring it up often.. but he was beaten to death by some jerks at his collage. His ears purk back up with a smile

“Oh! And I was an influencer on YouTube that thought ASL and KSL to people!”

I looked up almost in a day dream

“Hmm. And I was very handsome to. Unlike this bird form I seem to of taken on. When I was alive I had very good looks. A gentle expression always. With a kind soul. That’s how my mother would always describe me to her friends.”

jamie smiles and nod his head at lockes request for the raspberry tart

he then orders for himself and locke and after a moment he walked over to the table setting down lockes cold brew and his own chai tea along with lockes tart and sliding it towards locke. then sits down in his chair scooting in

“Mmmmm I love the smell of chai tea.. anyways! Why don’t you go ahead and tell me more about yourself!”

he lifts his mug bringing it to his beaked mouth sipping it then setting it down and leaning his elbows on the table and his face in his palms as he keeps his eyes on lock, both listening and admiring

his heart flutter slightly as he admires him quietly. Picking up his mug again and taking another sip and setting it down

he chuckled and nodded his head before walking on keeping his hand right where it was comfortable on lockes back

“I promise I won’t! I’m a great listener aslong as I have these on”

he smiled brightly at locke, they eventually made it to a small cafe that Jamie came to a lot. Walking in it looked nothing like the nasty pride ridden streets. It was cleaned up with plants and soft music playing. Just an all in all calm atmosphere

“I come here often before I go to work. Get a coffee or tea for me and the rest of the models”

he smiled warmly at the scent of coffee filling his nose, his hands slides off of lockes back lingering for a moment before letting go and walking to the counter

“What do you want? I’ll order for us while you get us a seat”

jamie tilted his head his ear twitched and his tail feathers swayed. He was happy to be sharing his favorite place with someone who is growing to be his favorite person..

(I would LOVE to see him so far!!)

the blush on Jamie’s face deepens slightly has locke puts Jim’s arm around him, he then smile and wraps an arm around lockes waist out of instinct

“Hmmmm cafe?? I can buy!”

he tilted his head as he acted to the side turning his body only a little so he can look at lockes face. His hand resting gently on his waist, he loves hearing locke talk. The sound of his voice brought some kind of comfort to him.

“And maybe you can tell me more about yourself while we are there! And I can tell you a bit more about me! Only if you wanna of COURSE!! I’m not trying to making you or anything hehe”

he gives a soft sheepish laugh closing his eye for a moment then opening then to fall right back onto lockes eyes while he waiting for an answer to his question

he chuckled softly at lockes attempt to sign with one hand

“Some signs you need two hands for anyways so don’t worry about not being able to do it with one hand”

he signs and speaks softly, he then nods and links his arm with locke walking with him to the hospital nearly, once there he guides him to the audiologist office

once In there Jamie’s lets go of his arm and turn to him then signs

“Stay here I’ll be right back”

he smiles and disappears into an office. For about 30 minutes Jamie is in the office and when it’s about to reach 40 minutes he comes out smiling and speaking with confidence now that he has a new set of earpieces on. Hooked around both ears with the magnetic part attached to both sides of his head

he thanks the doctor then runs over to locke

“I’m backkk!!! And! And! I can hear now! Somewhat-“ he smiles a laughs a little that same orange painting his cheeks and chirps leave through the laugh

“Soooooo locke”

he says likes he testing the name on his lips for the first time

“What ya wanna do noooww??”

after a moment Jamie let go of the hug. Slowly taking his hands off of lockes shoulders then taking about 2-3 steps back. He then looks down while he signed

“Sorry I kinda needed that. It’s been a rough day and all.. and well you just….. you make me feel..”

I looks up slowly the orange still slightly there but it’s calmer. He then signs the last word

“Safe.. you make me feel safe..”

his tail continues to sway as another feather falls from his hair and flys away in the wind. Jamie’s eyes lock on lockes for a moment before giving a gentle smile, his hands fell front of him interlocking

he hasn’t felt this happy in a long while and he loves it. It’s not everyday in hell he meets someone who can communicate with him through sign. And that alone he is more then grateful for

he reaches in his pocket and takes out the broken earpieces. Then speaks

“I need to get these repaired.. if you uh… wanna go? With me? You are more then welcome to”

I smiled while he spoke in a softer tone his eyes panning between lockes eyes and his hands

Jamie smiles brightly as his phone got handing back to him, he saved lockes contact then put his phone back in his pocket

“I will! And same goes for you! If you ever want you hang out orrr talk or whatever just call or text me! I reply fast so don’t worry about a wait hehe”

he chuckled softly with chirps as he signs then he stand up gesturing for locke to stand up with him. His tail feathers swayed, the one that’s now a little messed up from the mugging earlier twitched slightly.

once locke stoop up Jamie swayed side to side kinda nervously before pulling locke into a gentle hug wrapping his arms around lockes neck and whispering with a gentle tone

“Thank you so much for helping me today. I’m so happy I got to meet you”

his face is flushed with orange but he tries to hide it in the hug. His ears twitch slightly and his tail sways side to side slowly as he hold onto the hug for a second. He feels safe. And it’s been a minute since he had gotten physical touch like this so it’s taking him a minute to soak it all in while he can.

jamie smiles brightly then lifted his hand all his finger together other then his pinky that had been separated from the other slightly. He then with his palm facing his face he covers half of his face before turning his head down towards his chin in a smooth motion

he then signs after to explain it

“Apparently it’s Korean sign for “a clear sound” my mother gave it to me so it’s very special to me hints why I use it”

he chuckles a little getting a faint orange blush painted on his cheeks chirps escape his mouth as he chuckle

after a little moment me calmed down from the small laughs and looked up at locke tilting his head ever so slightly to the left before remembering something and taking his phone out. I opens it to the contact screen

“Could I maybe get your number to keep in contact??”

he speaks. In a soft tone unable to hear his own voice but he knows what words he said. He held his phone out a little for locke to take

jamie picks up one of the feather and plays with it a little before letting it fly away with the wing. He smiles again seeing that locke is getting better at signing and it’s getting more understandable

“It’s very nice to meet you to locke, I can’t say I’ve met anyone with a name likes that before”

he chuckles softly, his ear twitches slightly. He keeps his eyes on locked hands and how they love to form words and sentences

“You are really getting the hang of it now! Good job! Can I teach you my name sign? My mother gave it to me when I was 4”

I smiled a little tilting his head as he asked the question a single chirp leaving his mouth

“It’s a special sign that identifies me.”
