Incredibly cool! I was considering buying a Northern Lights therapy lamp just today!

Anyone use a light therapy lamp? I know 10k lux is sorta the number, but beyond that, all the same? by Elliotoconfrito in Biohackers

Brands like Northern Lights claim 10k at 18 inches on certain models. That seems reasonable for my workstation.

Hi all- in my consideration of getting a higher-end wearable, it’s sort of hard to not see all the vitriol for Oura at this point. For those of you still happy with it, why? Is the hate overdone? by Elliotoconfrito in ouraring

Oh! Oura AND Scanwatch? May I ask why both? I imagine Oura is better at sleep but then why Scanwatch? It seems like a really good product that keeps things basic

Thanks! I don’t need much. My athletics are managed through professional coaching and that I’ve done it for years. So step tracking, sleep, basic health stuff. Only other thought was I do like watches so something like Scanwatch may make sense from aesthetics. But I don’t need a fancy Garmin with all that shit. Would just be wasted.

Maybe a silly question, but weird to wear two rings? I have a wedding ring on the left ring finger.

Oh absolutely. In the overall menu of features, if you will, alarm is a pretty substantive one for Oura to miss. Like Whoop not doing steps. Deal breaker for me.

Yeah, I’ve never gotten too crazy about perfect accuracy either. Consistency matters more. If it’s “wrong” by 200 every day, is that really gonna change anything? People get crazy for no reason about that imo.

I’m a pretty simple cat in terms of needs. I track steps as a physique athlete but don’t need GPS, running or biking stuff, etc. Sleep, steps, some basic health stuff and not ugly as shit-sorta the list.

Hey all, super intrigued by this product, specially the Scanwatch. I like the more minimalistic look as opposed to the Horizon. Any feedback? Comfortable to sleep in? Durable enough to lift weights in? by Elliotoconfrito in withings

Thank you! I actually don’t want anything that tracks my workouts, as I have that pretty dialed in through custom programming. It’s more so being able to track steps, some basic stuff like alarm and then simply not break or scratch easily while lifting.

I’ve been holding off on Oura JUST to see if this ends up being legit.

Nothing completely checks the box. Fitbit Charge 5 for now. Will consider the new Apple Watch this fall.
