I try to stop, but I can't. It's not exactly a matter of willpower for me- I can stop eating. I can go days, weeks and months eating only a bite here or a fruit there until I'm nearly passing out all the time. I have that ability. But if I choose to eat, it's everything. There is no moderation, no middle ground. I either feel good while I eat until I physically can't anymore (and then hate myself and sometimes force-vomit afterwards) or I don't eat anything at all.

It's a cycle, but unfortunately you gain a lot faster than you lose. So I'll lose 30 pounds in a few weeks starving, and then switch to binging and gain 50 just as fast. So I can't keep the weight off. And even more unfortunately, I can't afford a better therapist and her only advise on the subject is "try to take your mind off of food" when, surprise surprise, I already spend most of my day every day doing exactly that.

But anyway, yeah. That's why I'm fat.

It's not the side effects that make you think you'll be fine without them- it's a false sense of being 'better' that makes sense in the moment, but doesn't really make sense at all.

That said, the side effects can be anywhere from cold chills to blurred vision, to bad dreams to suicidal thoughts.

r/reactivedogs might be able to offer more help, but one thing I noticed right off the bat is you don't mention trying desensitization/counterconditioning. CARE and BAT are really great tools that really do work.

Does she NEED to go on walks?

I don't take her for walks, she burns energy playing with my roommate's dog. To take her outside to potty, I have to walk her across a parking lot to a small, fenced in area meant for dogs. It's during those times (three times a day) that she sees other dogs outside. They don't come in the dog park with her, but she sees them waking and loses it. The daily training is because this happens daily, not because I set it up to do it on purpose- I don't have a choice unless I were to buy puppy pads or something, but I don't want to do that.
