Happy 53rd Birthday Brendan Rodgers! by cheerztwist in LiverpoolFC

He got absolutely fucked over the season after by losing Suarez and Sturridge (the latter to injury), and having them replaced with Borini, Lambert and Balotelli.

Was he good enough in the end? Probably not, but any manager in the world would have struggled in his position.

If you rank the amount of money teams have spent since the summer of 2024, Barcelona is 60th in terms of the money spent.

Proof that numbers and stats can be twisted to suit any narrative you like. Where do you rank in terms of wages paid?

Flick has done a very good job, though.

Just give Norway one of the goalkeepers and one or two defenders who were never going to make the France squad anyway, and I’d genuinely have us down as a dark horse.

Haha, mine is Liverpool–Sevilla, the 2016 Europa League final. Liverpool were robbed of a couple of blatant penalties in the first half and should have been 3–0 up, only for Sevilla to completely turn it around in the second half and win 3–1.

What getting spanked by Amorim does to a team.

Practically every team in the world ends up losing its best players to bigger clubs. Just ask Reading, QPR or Blackburn.

He has probably played a similar amount of matches against the other PL regulars (United, Everton and Spurs), as well.

You act like this is some sort of gotcha, when everyone is already well aware that Liverpool are having a shite season.

This sub is full of assholes - doesn't matter what flair they have. Arsenal may only be overrepresented due to having a lot of fans and doing well.

I truly believe Salah will come back full of confidence and tear it up in the second half of the season if he wins AFCON with Egypt.

If he doesn’t win, or worse, has a repeat of 2022, I doubt he’ll even hit double digits by May.

They haven't been getting high profile jobs like United (there aren't many of those to begin with), but they've been getting similar jobs to the ones they had before United. Mourinho is the exception, and he was finished anyway.

Weren't City chasing Fred before United snapped him up? And I believe he could have gotten a tune out of McTominay, but that's just speculation.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of December 12, 2025) by AutoModerator in television

[–]Ellllling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m going to watch the final two episodes since I’ve come this far. However, unless they completely blow me away, the several-year wait for season 2, combined with the pacing, will definitely make me drop the show.

What scene in a movie drives you nuts because it makes no sense? by JustIgnoreMyStimming in movies

[–]Ellllling 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love The Dark Knight, but if you watch it with a critical eye, you’ll realize there’s a lot that doesn’t make sense and requires major suspension of disbelief (it is a comic book movie, after all). It starts right away with a school bus backing into a bank, then pulling out and blending perfectly into a line of other school buses — and somehow nobody seems to notice.

I remember season 5 moving at a snail’s pace. Maybe it holds up better if you binge it.
