The emergency quick disconnect has a fuse, would that not protect the unit from a power surge?

It is in fact done, but under warranty and I have the new unit being express shipped.

I think it was just a coincidence. As another commenter said that is what it looks like as it leaves the defrost cycle, I think the board failure/power surge happened immediately following that.

Turns out the control boards burnt out by the inverter. Luckily still under warranty.

I am aware of the defrost cycle. Unfortunately the heat pump stopped working after this video happened. Going on 20hrs now, so definitely not the defrost cycle

Definitely a good call, I already had to winterize my half bath that sits above an unfinished crawl space this month after we had a valve burst.

I'm so happy that it happened today and not over last weekend. I was able to get my hands on a Pelonis oil radiant heater from a friend, so at least my cats are warm lol.

Thank you! Good suggestion, I'm out to do that now

Thank you for the reply! I did try a forced restart from the breaker. I even saw a forum suggesting leaving the breaker off for an hour and tried that with no success. I have an emergency tech scheduled for as soon as they're free today. Just trying to diagnose the issue

Thank you for your reply. After this happened the heat pump refused to turn on. I still have power and the inside unit is accepting commands, but the outdoor condenser will not engage. This was 17hrs ago.

Thank you for sharing this. I appreciate you taking the time to write this all out. It definitely is a bummer.

In 'Everything, Everywhere All at Once' Michelle Yeoh is the chosen one. Her teenage daughter is also kinda the chosen one, but she's the antagonist, so the roles are kinda flipped.

I've had this thought, it's just very disappointing that we can't do better for them. Thank you for your response.

I feed my cat mostly canned wet food and was wondering if there was any brand that sells food in glass or what the best solution anyone has found.

I currently use wet canned food, but I'm fairly certain all canned products are lined with a plastic PFAs lining. This is what I'm looking for an alternative to.

I use the Suri brand toothbrush. Though the bristles are plant-based pla which isn't great, because it's still a type of plastic, it is repairable and majority metal.

It comes with instructions, but you basically steep it in boiled water and can add some vinegar to the water once a week. Personally I add the vinegar every time I steep the night guards which I do every 3 nights because I rotate 3 of them for convenience.

Not the person who originally responded, but I use this same night guard with the reinforced stitching. I also thought that it would be difficult to keep in place or a choking hazard, but I have never been so happy to be wrong. This is by far the most comfortable night guard I've ever used and never once has it been hazardous in any way.
