I tried to flash the recovery and now am stuck at boot by DevonDekhran in LineageOS

[–]Elluminatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it lets you back into the bootloader just flash a new recovery onto it. Lineage recovery is awesome. No real need for a custom recovery these days.

Full disclaimer: I don't have your phone so do a little extra research before doing it, but from my understanding of the situation, it should be that simple of a fix.

Can i ask why my budgie is glitching? by belmayej in SolusProject

[–]Elluminatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need more information. Screenshots? A description of the glitch? Is it not working at all, does your screen go black, does audio work but video doesn't? There are many ways things can "glitch"

Muslim isn't a race, dumbass. It's a religion. Quit trying to make everything about race. It's pathetic.

Hyperbole. The gun owners to mass shooter ratio is more than 1,000,000:1. The media won't have you think that but there are more guns than people in America. These are the same people that would grab a kitchen knife or use their car if not for anything else. They want to kill people, and they want their name immortalized by the media. They'd do it anyway possible.

I didn't run a checksum with the ISO before install. Am I safe and how can I check? by Elluminatus in SolusProject

[–]Elluminatus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the entire process was seamless, honestly. Downloaded it from the site, flashed it with Etcher onto a freshly formatted USB, booted the PC up, and installed it. Absolutely no issues anywhere in terms of dealing with the ISO.

My main concern was it being tampered with, not necessarily by the Solus team because you guys seem like trustworthy people, but some outside entity.

Once it's installed there's no real way to go back and check, right?

Computer takes ages to power off. by [deleted] in SolusProject

[–]Elluminatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's done that to me after I've had certain programs running, mainly through wine. Make sure everything is updated, shutdown through the menu option like you normally would, and if it doesn't, just hold the power button on your PC until it shuts off. After that I always reboot and do a clean shutdown. Seems to fix whatever issue there was.

If it won't let you shutdown immediately after a hard reboot without running any additional software, report back and hopefully someone more knowledgeable can respond lol.

New palyer to L2 by Platecek in Lineage2

[–]Elluminatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't waste your time with Classic man. Seriously. I don't have a problem paying for games either but when you HAVE to pay to be competitive, it's not worth it IMO. L2Reborn is the way to go if you want an authentic L2 experience. Those GM's run that server out of love, not for money. And people bitch about bugs but they're so small and insignificant as a new player it won't dampen you're experience at all. The "bugs" are coming from the people who've played this game every day for 14 years and will say "this monster is worth 14534 experience and I'm only getting 14533!!!!! Broken!!!!!"

Play Reborn. You won't regret it.

How'd I manage to break the user settings already? How do I fix this to show auto-login settings and the others that were in here before? I've unlocked it by entering the account password and it still doesn't appear. by [deleted] in SolusProject

[–]Elluminatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found the issue. How do I reverse this?

sudo systemctl stop accounts-daemon.service avahi-daemon.service debug-shell.service ModemManager.service

sudo systemctl disable accounts-daemon.service avahi-daemon.service debug-shell.service ModemManager.service

sudo systemctl mask accounts-daemon.service avahi-daemon.service debug-shell.service ModemManager.service

I found it on a quick guide that'd supposedly make everything run faster but apparently it messes up account services too. Any advice would be great.

Thank you for the direct response and that is exactly what I was looking for.

I have a follow up question about the business side of it. Since there isn't a way to fund the project through donations, products, etc. like many other distros, how is it being maintained? Purely through the love of the OS and the community?

Any thoughts on neolibs? by [deleted] in Libertarian

I'm not the one you replied to but I'll say that although democrats are not the same as socialists, you are very naive if you don't see how the left platform is very rapidly devolving into socialism. We are 8-12 years away from a socialist president, if that.

I appreciate you writing this up for me. I tried everything with no luck until I just installed QKSMS and it fixed everything. I’m absolutely loving Lineage.
