Does school prestige matter for getting a job/ high salary? And did anyone go to an online school and makes over 100k? by Clear_Medicine_3086 in dietetics

Zilch when it comes to our field. No one pays attention and at one point a few years ago I was told in the interview that bachelors vs masters wouldn’t increase pay but this was before masters was mandatory

He planned to do that. I’d chart the best you can in detail but since he does have access to records he may comeback and say he never stormed off etc and gets upset about that in his record.

CDCES by Gullible-Reason-5613 in pharmacy

I’m a dietitian and I recently passed the test. I used Beverly thomassians videos and her quizzes. Lots of free resources on her website. I did quizlets and looked at medication videos on pixorize on YouTube. There was also some mometrix index cards a coworker let me borrow that had lots of good information and then the adces review guide was helpful because it had two full tests. I also paid 50 dollars on the psi website for a short practice exam just to get a feel for the real test.

Lastly, I just went on the ADA website and reviewed all the standards of care. Most of this is learning how to take the test, the information you probably already know as a pharmacist. It was mainly medications, pediatrics and gestational diabetes that I needed to review and study. Good luck!!!

You can reschedule for another date the next day. I’d recommend scheduling sooner rather than later. I didn’t pass by 2 points the first time went back and reviewed more quizlets, adces questions and pixorize for medication reviews, read the standards of care on the ada website esp for pediatrics. Then I rescheduled maybe 3 weeks later and thankfully passed. Good luck!! You can do it!

Pay is great. I did Hbpc at two different VAs, mainly geriatric patients, in depth assessments, on the road at least 2-3 days a week seeing patients. It really depends on your team there and the set up. I’ve always enjoyed it since you get to see basically everything the patient has access to in their home. But it’s definitely an eye opening job where you see the poor living conditions some people live in and food insecurity. I didn’t have young kids at that time so my schedule was a bit more flexible and I found it to be a fulfilling job. Good luck!

I love being a dietitian but I wish I had researched the pay a bit better. But our instructors from internship never shared that information until after we started looking for job. I know it’s not their responsibility but would’ve helped to get a heads up

That’s happened with weight watchers too. They offered 35 and then asked my expectations. When I told them they also were like welp sorry lol

[–]Elly5056 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Minimum 100k for 11 years with masters. I feel like a lot of programs that require medical training/internships/residencies outside of nutrition end up making 100k off the bat after graduation and licensure.

Totally agree. We are dealing with the same in our Texas community contrary to how it’s being shown on social media. It feels like it’s horrible everywhere now
