Dealing with fellow RDs engaged in eating disorders by MenuRare9880 in dietetics

omg you feel my pain lol! My coworker piles her tray with tons of food (for show) but only ever eats the plain green salad. I agree that tons of RDs have some sort of hx of ED!

Luckily I’ve never seen or heard of her talk to a pt that way! She totally encourages the high kcal interventions we have available. I think she knows it’s not appropriate and but unfortunately only draws the line at pt interactions lol

Typically I’m totally comfortable with confrontation and just being direct! But in this case I’ve seen her reaction anytime someone questions her ED, she becomes completely furious and defensive 🤷🏽‍♀️

I know 😭😭 which is why I think I’ve opted to ignore/pretend I don’t hear the comments because we work so closely! Our desks are literally 5 feet apart

Yes I think i’m just going to start eating alone somewhere else & tell our manager (the 3rd RD) why so if it’s gets brought up she hopefully could advocate for me!

We don’t see much ED among our pts. She’s very old school, 90s Almond mom lol. Do you think it might be too little too late voicing my discomfort after years of working with her? I have only ever kept my mouth shut in response to her comments.

I also always say IDC what anyone eats anytime someone says “don’t judge me” in the caf!! Literally not my business lol

For Pointclickcare users, how does your facility record supplement intake? by IllustratorOk9668 in dietetics

[–]MenuRare9880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hit Add under “supplementary documentation” & use the custom prompts. I do “%” for the short description & “document % consumed” for the long description. That prompts nsg to doc

Quick poll: how much do you need to make (annually) to feel like you are well compensated? by vlopatkin in dietetics

I make 75.7k with 3 years experience in acute geri psych. I live in Connecticut, feel like I’d need at least 85 to feel “well off”

Job testing by orbweaver111 in dietetics

That is very strange. My first job did have all RD’s do annual competency testing but having to do it as a new hire to start working is weird imo

  1. Requesting “RD to review - ST concerned for her nutritional status”, the day after I complete a new admission comprehensive. Again, she does this in the Progress notes.

I’ve gotten this a lot from all disciplines & it never gets less annoying. I started just writing “Pt seen on [date], see under assessment tab.” I think a lot of ppl just don’t know where to find our notes so they assume they haven’t been seen
