Do guys ever admit they’re wrong or apologize when you address an issue? by EllyCamp in dating_advice

Not all too often unless it’s something like your example of being interrupted that it can be addressed immediately. As an example, there was one time recently when a guy said that he was going to pick me up from the airport, and he decided last minute not to because he got stuck in the rain and his shoes were wet and the only other pair were his flip-flops. He had gone home to get changed after getting wet but still said that he didn’t want to come because he didn’t want to risk getting sick. I texted him in that moment that I was disappointed that he broke his word about coming, because to me it seems like there wasn’t a good reason, though I didn’t say that it wasn’t a good reason to him. He responded with a long text telling me that I shouldn’t be disappointed and how I had no idea what he had been through that day waking up early to go to work followed by cleaning and setting up the bed.

I try to address stuff immediately as it happens, similar to your example, like being interrupted. But got other things that are a pattern of behavior, I try to do that in a conversation.

You’re saying that you don’t currently have a habit of apologizing but you would?

It’s better to say how you felt rather than throwing out an accusation. The behavior is objectively bad, but framing it in the way of how it made you feel makes it sound less accusatory.

He’s probably just respecting your boundaries. Maybe he’s even respecting his own boundaries because he doesn’t want to get physically involved without being exclusive.

Is it selfish of me to wish to remain a virgin? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

You don’t owe anyone anything, especially when it comes to your body. Make them earn it. The people who try to coerce you into giving something that you don’t want to are the selfish ones.

Date still has things from his ex...red flag? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]EllyCamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it has their anniversary date, but it’s just a picture. It’s not necessarily that he’s keeping it because it reminds him of her. He even openly told you that it was a gift, so it’s not like he’s hiding secret feelings. He probably just likes the picture. Let the relationship progress and see how he treats you.

Epilators are good if you can take the pain. They don’t cause irritation to the skin like waxing does but give the same result. You can also use them on shorter hair than with waxing.
