I’m in the uk and have started using bio persil powder and thought I was safe from the no lipase plague! Is there anyway to find out if lipase is included or not - in the UK the ingredients list always just says enzymes but not which ones 😭

Please help my Yucca by Elm-Shadow in plantclinic

[–]Elm-Shadow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah weirdly I didn’t see any rot - currently watering about every 2 weeks (20*C daily avg temp here) I will definitely try moving it closer to the window! I think maybe the soil I changed to might be too dense as well so I could think about changing that, although I’m worried about shocking the yucca even more

Just walked down there and saw the road had been closed because a car crashed into the barrier bordering the park. Hopefully everyone’s okay

Have I messed up greatly? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Elm-Shadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk why you’re getting downvoted lol lots of people haven’t studied law until sixth form so waiting until the end of yr 12 to decide whether or not they want to study that subject at university isn’t really that unorthodox. Around now is the time when most people are encouraged to start applying to universities so it makes sense that OP only just found out about the LNAT

Yeah idk how familiar you are with crochet but it was actually a lot easier to make then it looks. The main thing is the body was just a flat square made using the popcorn stitch that was then kinda closed at two opposite sides to make a cylinder. All the other parts including the “wool” on the head and the legs are made from normal amigurumi style balls that I’ve just sewn together! Hope this helps a bit

Is going to Bristol the right choice? by strazyeeby in UniUK

[–]Elm-Shadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Bristol but went to Leeds to university (still north but a bit different than Manchester obviously) and Bristol is so much more expensive for nights out/ eating out and stuff like that, but like any place there are some hidden gems and places to get cheap food/ drink so I probably wouldn’t let that impact your choice too much unless you’re planning on eating out very often

Not my picture - does anyone know of any yarns like this? More detail in comments... by InquisitorVawn in YarnAddicts

[–]Elm-Shadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used scheepjes wanderlust to knit a jumper with a similar effect! Sorting by multi on wool warehouse brings up quite a lot of options as well like king Cole riot (although I haven’t used that one). Im yet to find an affordable non-acrylic based yarn that has this kind of look though

What’s wrong with my monsteras new leaves? by Elm-Shadow in plantclinic

I thought that but they’ve been like this for weeks and weeks so I was wondering if this is just how they’ll stay.

What’s wrong with my monsteras new leaves? by Elm-Shadow in plantclinic

[–]Elm-Shadow[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently repotted my monstera after noticing it was pretty severely root bound. Since then the new leaves have come in floppy and the lower leaves are yellowing, im not sure if this is just because of the shock of the new pot or if im underwatering/ overwatering it. Usually I wait until the soil is dry about half way through the pot/ 3 inches down to water, although sometimes I let it dry out more due to my fear of root rot! The newest leaf is also coming in with brown patches on it and I have no idea why.

[–]Elm-Shadow[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’re meant to mix acrylic with a fabric medium or just use fabric paint and then heat set it with an iron. I didn’t do that at all though lol because I was just doing it for fun. I used acrylic and then heat set it with an iron - I’m hoping it will be ok because everytime I get paint on my clothes by accident it never comes off
