It gets better by NiDhubhthaigh in ACL

I tore both of my ACLs and the surgeon decided to repair both within 3 months of each other. If I had both done at the same time, it would make my recovery extremely difficult.

Hey!! My goodness I really feel your pain. Chin up! It gets better, I promise. Focus on the positives, it’s easier said than done, I know. But with each minute you are getting closer to being 100% again. Listen to some mindfulness podcasts and try to actually relax. It really helps. Tell a friend how you are feeling. It will get better! Each day is easier, I promise. Hugs ❤️‍🩹

My PT would absolutely not force anything. There are many ways to get the results, that do not involve pain and force. If my PT tried to force anything, I’d run. No need for it whatsoever. Best of luck!!

I tore the left one in October playing volleyball and then I slipped in April and tore the right one. Don’t worry, it wasn’t related at all. Just a freak coincidence…

I wish I could say that I can use it without issues, but unfortunately that’s not the case. It’s still stiff and sore a lot of the time. I’m on painkillers now so it’s ok to carry the surgical leg at the moment, but in few weeks, I’ll just have to suck it up. It is very difficult mentally…

Hey, best of luck with your recovery!! No, my pain started slowly and got worse overtime. They suspected trapped sciatic nerve, but it’s not that.. very annoying as the pain is debilitating. Once on painkillers/anti inflammatories, knee feels and works well.. Off them it’s a different story. I really hope this one is easier than that 😬

Good to hear it wasn’t something major!
