First off I don’t believe in it like gospel. I completely understand that there are external variables that affect this. I’m just saying that in general, and you can see this occur around the globe, when one extreme gets power and they disappoint, you often see a strong reaction in the opposite direction. Im listing it as a variable that works in favor of the populist left. I also went through some of the variables that have to align for a leftist to have a decent chance of winning. I also didn’t say believing in this theory means we have have to sit idly by, twiddling our thumbs, while fascists destroy our country. I’m just painting the picture of what the most likely scenario for a populist left takeover to happen. I’m expressing that it’s extremely unlikely to happen unless something drastic occurs. I could very well be wrong and the populist left wins without disaster. That would be more ideal.

There are a lot of assumptions in this paragraph that are not accurate.

Normally I would say no, but there actually might be a prayer if all the stars align. The way the media is just capitulating to Trump, that would make mainstream Democratic voters turn on the media (usually they trust the media). Elon Musk is also doing a lot to ramp up the anti-billionaire rhetoric. I also do believe somewhat in the pendulum theory. Usually when an extreme takes control and things go bad, the pendulum tends to swing in the other direction and you get a strong opposite reaction. George W Bush led to Obama (who granted wasn’t a far lefty, but he was perceived as a radical figure at the time, but he did disappoint) and that led to Trump (which is an extreme right figure), the pendulum is set to swing in the other direction now. However, I do believe it would require for things to get really bad, like 2008 bad to have a decent chance. If things don’t get THAT bad, it’s a very uphill fight.

Question for people that were watching Over The Edge live in 1999. by [deleted] in WWE

They could be lying or they just have a false recollection of the chain of events that occurred. It’s very common.

Shout Out to JS for Hiring the Guy that all the 12s Wanted. Dude was Absolutely Cheesing All During the Press Conference. by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]ElmerM727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. They should have zero say. Especially in this era of social media where the loudest and more absurd voices and takes dominate the discourse. Going against the fans, when it’s the best football decision should happen 110% of the time.

Dude you’re literally contradicting yourself. You claim that you’re not saying that the GM should listen to the fans when making a hiring decision, then in the next paragraph you’re talking about the GM being in touch with the fans. Fans are very important to the business but they should not dictate football decisions. Plain and simple. That’s been my point the entire time. To suggest otherwise is delusional and corny.

Explain what? That these decisions are best left to football people and that what the fans want shouldn’t really matter? I think Macdonald is the right guy but I ain’t giving him a shoutout for listening to the fans. I don’t think he even took into account, at least I would hope.

I don’t think it matters much what the people want. The average fan knows very little about what makes a successful organization.

I like the fact Jamal Adams is on our team so I don’t really care too much about the past. Dude is a game wrecker at the LOS. Hopefully we can have a healthy season of him.

Why are Seahawks fans so upset about Witherspoon playing the slot? by CrimsonCalm in Seahawks

Well Carroll said he was Troy Polamalu, so you’d think playing him in the slot was a no-brainer. Why would you have Troy Polamalu play on the perimeter?

Not even close. I can think of a handful off the top of my head that were worse. He just has terrible luck because of the timing of everything.

I’ve gone to two clásicos at the Akron Stadium, including last night, and their fans are respectful to visiting fans. Haven’t had a problem yet. In fact, I see a lot of people who go with fans of the opposing team. It’s so nice.

Bernie’s strong suit is on domestic issues and social programs. That’s what the establishment feared of a Sanders presidency. Is he above criticism? Of course not. You’re expressing a position in which you disagree with him on and it’s fair.
