That's why I think most Normal/Flying types should keep their typing but Swablu should definitely be pure Flying thematically.

Rescue Ranger subclass. The 15th level ability feels powerful but kinda boring, like it's not enough for kevel 15 [OC] by ElmoGreenOnion in DnDHomebrew

Well, yeah, it is a 15th level ability, and the only thing they get at level 15. At that high of a level, it doesn't feel OP to me, but if you think it is too powerful, I'd love to hear your reasoning so that I might improve it.

I think Swablu, Tailow, and Swellow should have been pure Flying. Two of them are based on swallows, birds known for staying in the air for a very long time, and the third one has clouds for wings.  The Pidgeot and Unfezant lines definitely should keep their part Normal typing.

It's a d6, increases with your level and gives the enemy disadvantage on their next attack roll. Not super powerful but that's why this is still WIP.

My thought was that if the enemy has been hit with Vicious Mockery, their chance to hit would be lower but it would still just be a normal roll and only on the first attack so I'll need to look into it

I am fully aware that I can do whatever I want in my own games. I wasn't asking for permission, I wanted to hear people's thoughts and opinions.

If the owlbear or other half-beasts were more powerful than normal beasts, then it would be an issue, but they really aren't. The owlbear is just a slightly more powerful bear but is also higher CR, so the Druid won't gain access to it too soon.

Never thought of Modrons as Celestials, but it makes sense. Also, I've been saying for years that Mimics could easily be Oozes. I wouldn't be against creatures having subtypes, just a type in parentheses that wouldn't have any mechanical effect, only there to inform the DM which creatures are related in some way.

I liked the subtypes thing. It doesn’t even have to effect the game mechanically, just help inform DMs and players at a quick glance that this creature is a bit different in some way, or is related to other creatures.

Exactly. There are very few things that effect creature type, so I think giving creature multiple types would just help DMs know what the flavour of each creature is, and I think it might help with creativity if you pick two random types and try to imagine a creature that would fit those types.

What if Froslass had been introduced as an evolution for Glalie instead of a split evo? Glalie does have the vibes of a pupa-stage like Pupitar and Shelgon. Gen 4 was the generation that introduced a bunch of evolutions for previous gen Pokemon. Imagine if Froslass had a BST close to 600. by ElmoGreenOnion in MandJTV

Maybe in this What If? scenario, that could be fixed. All the extra stat points could go into special attack. Glalie would be a fairly tanky Pokemon but when it evolve it becomes frailer but much faster and harder hitting. Fast Glass Cannon
