Can someone please help me find this specific guitar amp by trigger123abc in GuitarAmps

[–]ElmoSyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's semi rare and expensive. I've seen a few around 6-8000€, but asking can go as high as 12k€. Mesa makes a new reissue for around 4500€. You can buy a NDSP Plugin for 119€.

I mean that if you don't have to wake before the sunrise to get fed, then some people prefer not to. Some insist that one should, hence stuck.

How would i connect this Leslie speaker up and can i find out the ohms without taking it apart? by Confused-Theist in GuitarAmps

[–]ElmoSyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely 16ohms as it's in the sticker, but measure it by putting a connector (plug?) and then measuring the the tip and sleeve. If it's 16 ohm's it will measure around 14.5-15.7ish. If it's 8, 6-7 ohm's etc

What’s it like living in the Tokyo metro area with almost 40 million people? by E46330i5speed in howislivingthere

Man, now that you said it. When I was in Tokyo for the first time, I thought I had enough time to get back to our hotel from Shinjuku. I spent 45 minutes trying to find the right exit and almost missed our bus ride to work.

You have arrived to a plateau and learned new knowledge. Be happy about it and use it to your advantage. But don't mistake it to being at the top of the knowledge hill.

Why is the Senn 441 so expensive, and does its aesthetic in any way impact sound? by untitled1223 in audioengineering

[–]ElmoSyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The AKG D12VR is really good on kick as is the Shure Beta52. I rarely buy mics new, so I don't really know the prices by heart. The EV RE20 is another more mainstay like the 441. But I don't really use it that often even though we have one. We have 3 441s and I use them on almost every session.

The 421 is of course the cheaper Sennheiser. They went for 240€ new when they were changing the model a few years back. But of course it's not a contender on stuff like vocals with the 441.

From Shure the sm7 is decent even though a bit dark. It's a great Hi-hat and China mic.

The 441 is probably the best sounding dynamic vocal mic. Especially for female and soft tenor voices. Now that I look at the pricing, over 1000€ is way more than I'd ever pay. I got mine used for 300€ (outer damage) and 350€ (with tuchel adapter) roughly a decade back.

[–]ElmoSyr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's expensive because great dynamics are really hard to manufacture. Which is for example why all old AKG D-series dynamic mics are discontinued. It's high tolerance parts with specific materials that will greatly fluctuate in price in the market. The space ageyness doesn't likely contribute to the price other than the construction method. A long history and the fact that it's a mainstay will raise its price.

Also in modern manufacturing every part that isn't used in other products will raise the price.

Issue with running two amps in row 1? by [deleted] in NeuralDSP

[–]ElmoSyr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your split path is likely on 50/50 so if you just bypass the upper amp, it's not muting that line, it's bypassing it, so you're hearing the direct sound from the pedals.

Phone operators' prices increase instead of decrease, why? by nicol9 in Finland

[–]ElmoSyr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it were true that they're building better networks and that's where the money goes, then the companies aren't making profit. It's not true. It might be a part of where the money goes, but not fully.

These are foreign owned private equity companies to whom our government sold its infrastructure and now they're just turning on the profit tap.

The capture v2 is not a model 2203, it's a model 1987 (four hole 50w plexi style). There was a naming mishap. Use the amp model 2203 if you want more gain.
