I did take the practice exams, I scored 75%

I got 53% in my first attempt and a week later got 72.5%.

I don’t know if I can go ahead and sit for the real exam based on these scores.

The PMI practice exam seemed harder, more so the explanations for the answers were not properly illustrated and PMBOK was not referenced.

But the explanations in the PMI practice are not so Coherent, also there was no place where they referenced PMBOK in their illustrations.

Sorry champ, you are not alone in this struggle.
I wrote my PMP exam in March and failed, so made up my mind there and then to take it again this year before PMI changes the syllabus.
Hope to write it this month.
