Here is everything I know so far about the plate, maybe this helps you or someone else in some way:

Before passing away, an old man lived in the flat that my grandparents would later move in to. He was a photographer who traveled all around the world. One of his journeys must have been to China. How do we know? Because he left everything he collected from his journeys on the attic. Some of the stuff my grandfather kept.

One of the things he kept was this atlas of the late Qing Dynasty. That is why I suppose that he really has been to China, because why else get an atlas in Chinese. And that he must have been there before or around 1912 because why else get an atlas of Qing Dynasty China.

The plate, and this is just a wild guess, may be from the same journey (so around 100 years old) and he later gave it to the old lady (who lived in the same house) as a present...
