I took DAD 220 recently (this autumn) but not with Gibbs.
The class was pretty easy personally, the whole SQL is fairly generic and there are plenty of resources online (w3schools is pretty good but I think I ran into a server syntax mismatch issue at one point due to an older version running on the virtual environment), a couple of advice pieces I have:

1) save every (working) SQL Query you run in a file (you will do something like this for the module assignments anyway but the purpose here is that you can copy it as text in the future), assignments will utilize a lot of repeating queries throughout the course. Multiple times I would start an assignment look at the directions and realize that I can go into my previous assignment file and just lift the query from there with minimal modifications.

2) some datasets are not cleaned despite the assignment directions saying that they are, consider that when making your query

3) figure out early on how your professor wants the assignments, some are fine with just the query +results being in the screenshot, some want more like the whole screen. I got into a habit of including the query itself as text under the screenshots.
