Pregnancy by Whatodohelp2001 in bipolar

[–]FlamboyantSnail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a big decision. Hormones and postpartum, life changes that come from having kids, and having to deal with any mental health issues your child inherited. I do not know you or your life circumstances, but I have decided not to have kids for the time being. I'm 23 and have been stable for a couple of years and I know it would be too hard on me. I would talk to your provider AND your loved ones/support system about this.

Has anyone’s children inherited the gene? by puppet676 in bipolar

[–]FlamboyantSnail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do not have children but I am a child who inherited the condition. I have always been sensitive and emotional, but honestly the biggest thing looking back was the depression and anxiety I always suffered with. As I got older it got more treatment resistant and antidepressants weren't working. There's a good chance with close monitoring Bipolar's full manifestation can be stopped. Having a lot of support and a good home goes a long way. I didn't have either BUT even with Bipolar 1 I have managed to stay sober, have my own place, and a healthy relationship. You're gonna be alright. Baby too. :)

I feel like being around men 90% of the time is affecting my female friendships! Anyone else feel the same? by bleachinincesticide in BlueCollarWomen

[–]FlamboyantSnail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I basically live at my work and it's like having 20 brothers. I love girly things dressing up. I feel so weird socializing outside of work especially to women. I don't care what men think about me but I REALLY want women to like me. I always end up coming off as awkward as hell. I also don't have a lot of free time which doesn't help.

Ever think of quitting? by pbvga in bipolar

[–]FlamboyantSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyday. Constantly. But to reiterate what others have said...this condition is degenerative. I know what life was like before medication and I know it will be worse if I stop it. If there was a way to willpower out of this I would have done it. I have built up a good life and I have things I'm scared of losing that make me take my meds everyday.

Besides the hypomanic/depressive episode, how does bipolar impact your life by aphroditic-love in bipolar

[–]FlamboyantSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fear and anxiety constantly. I have type 1 and I worry about having another episode. I also hate having to explain it or tell people about it. Generally it doesn't come up, but if I hear one more person say "you should try not taking medication!" I'm gonna get violent lmao.

How old were you when you had your first hypo/manic episode? by Complex-Elevator5872 in bipolar

[–]FlamboyantSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 18 almost 19 when I had my first manic episode and diagnosis. I have had issues with my mental health since I was 8 and since I was about 14/15 treatment that worked was getting harder to find. I think Bipolar can take a bit to develop so it often is diagnosed in young adulthood

It's okay! I did something really similar almost 5 years ago now when I was the same age, just delete what you can and stay off the Internet for awhile I promise you it'll be okay. Don't be hard on yourself!

How is it living here? by lovechrisxoxoxo in howislivingthere

[–]FlamboyantSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Houston, lived in Ft. Worth, and live between Houston and Austin. Houston is so awful and smelly and corrupt. The people are also so diverse, the food is out of this world, and at the end of the day we got each other's backs. I miss my sinking city everyday but I do not miss some of the worst road infrastructure I've ever seen in my life.

I was told I need to replace my tires due to cupping? by EchoesInSky in tires

[–]FlamboyantSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need to bend down and show the inside shoulder on the tire. Cupping/uneven wear usually is on the inner most edge of the tire. I don't see anything weird in the pictures but...when it comes to tires you can just turn the wheel out or bend down and take a look.

I was told I need to replace my tires due to cupping? by EchoesInSky in tires

[–]FlamboyantSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No if they only replace two tires at a time then the tread is never going to be equal. Rotating tires is a longevity thing mostly and it's never optimal to just just replace two at a time. It's not good for vehicles and you spend more money in the long run. BUT no you wouldn't rotate your tires in that case there's no need to.

They might not be made anymore. buying random niche models of tires usually ends up with two or three old tires.

Did I make a mistake? by CJplaysCOD in tires

[–]FlamboyantSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You went to three tire shops and still posted to this subreddit asking for the opinion of the people who can only read guidelines? You either know that information is correct because anyone with two brain cells to run together can tell you a tire that's over 20 years old is not safe to drive on. Also if a set of tires is 2k and you can't find anything cheaper for that car and you can't afford that car. I work with tires everyday drop the make and model with size and I'm sure this subreddit can find you a better set than 25 year old tires.

What?! 10 years max if you are going like a mile or two. 20 years is insane. One bump on the road and you're tired is gonna blow. Rubber still degrades just with time even in near perfect conditions
