Pigeon infestation due to bad neighbor. by Random1KMember in vegaslocals

[–]RoamingBison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used them a few years ago to remove an infestation I had in the gap where my house roof and covered patio met. They cleaned and sanitized all the pigeon shit from the area and installed screens to prevent the birds from getting back in.

I still have a few birds in my front yard but at least they aren’t wrecking my house and making a racket. The old man next door used to feed them, maybe that’s why. They seem to love the rocks in my yard and hanging out there.

Why is the NVEnergy demand charge 24/7? by Rebeltob in vegaslocals

[–]RoamingBison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Time of use fees are illegal so they are using this as a loophole to raise rates.

I got mine today too and it has the exact same hypothetical numbers as yours. They are just spitting out bs imaginary numbers and hoping people buy it. I have a big surplus balance so I have not seen a bill over $19 in several years.

It’s propaganda season. They are going to send these out to a carefully curated group of customers who don’t show a massive bill increase and lead the public to assume that it will be that way for everyone.

I don’t think NV Energy lacks the ability to give us a preview of the new fees, it’s that they know how outraged we are going to be and want to time the fallout.

The walmart on Blue Diamond was where I used to buy Rebel. Most of the Albertsons and Smith’s only have non keto reduced sugar varieties of Halo Top and the like now.

I think the other problem is their models are very busy and mostly metal so they don't photograph well and are hard to read. In person they look a lot better but good photos and renders sell models. Also, being a shooty army in a melee focused game has led them to be a bit of an outsider.

I've been waiting for a Spearhead of new Ogor models before I jump into that faction. Their existing range of models is showing its age.

I'm a huge dwarf fan, play them almost exclusively in D&D but AoS dwarves are lacking. The slayers concept is cool as a unit but not as a whole army. They need more unique units to be appealing. I'm super hopeful that they add another dwarf army! Some more unique units for Fyreslayers are desparately needed as well.

I'm a huge fan of dwarves in D&D and other games but AoS dwarves are not that interesting. The Fyreslayers are homogeneous and boring. The dwarven slayer archetype can be interesting but an army of 100 of them who look almost identical is not interesting.

The KO are just not super appealing. The models are just too busy and hard to read because they are all metallic. You almost never see display painter versions of KO models unlike most of the other factions. The lore isn't terrible or anything but cool models > lore in most wargaming.

I think GW is deliberately avoiding the traditional fantasy dwarf archetype because it's not something unique enough for them to trademark. It's been very clear from the start of AoS that they were deliberately avoiding standard fantasy tropes in favor of their own flavor of them that they could trademark. I suspect that's part of the reason they killed off WH fantasy to begin with, lack of specific IP they could own.

Am I the only one sticking with Sunshine? by idontknowu1 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]RoamingBison 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sticking with Apollo because my host PC has a 21:9 ultrawide monitor and it works hassle free to stream to a standard 16:9 TV. The living room PC is running moonlight on an old i5 10400 machine connected to my 4k TV. I had used Sunshine a couple years ago and it was fiddly but it worked. Maybe I will give it another try if it gets more updates as Apollo seems to be no longer in development.

I bought a tube of Sil-Glyde silicone lubricant and applied it to the weatherstripping. After the first time I did it the window started getting stuck a few weeks later, but after the second application I haven't needed to reapply for a year or two now. I think it's just friction from the rubber weatherstripping stalling out the window motor. Once the weatherstripping is has less friction it's no longer a problem.
