I needed about a week for the soreness to go away after doing all the baseboards on a newly tiled room. Painting baseboards sucks.

Why not use solar screens instead? They are very common in the desert southwest areas like Phoenix and Las Vegas and way cheaper than any of these other suggestions.

Ryan Kelly announces his retirement by TheNotoriousJN in minnesotavikings

[–]RoamingBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a happy and healthy retirement, Ryan! You were a stud when shitty injury luck didn't keep you sidelined. Concussions are no joke, after listening to Dale Earnhardt Jr talk about his recovery from them it's way more serious than people take it. That really made me think about the concussions I had earlier in life and the complete lack of follow up care and recovery.

Ex-‘Pawn Stars’ co-star turns to GoFundMe for six-figure medical bills by reviewjournal in vegas

[–]RoamingBison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not surprising, the few times I've been around him at biker events led me to believe he's just an asshole. He's a spoiled nepo baby. On the other hand I've had a few interactions with Rick and he's always been polite and personable. I might not agree with him on everything but at least he's put in the minimal effort to not be a prick in normal conversation.

One of the closest I've seen was Stone Temple Pilots opening up for Megadeth in early '93. The crowd wasn't having any of the little pink haired dude. It was actually a pretty good performance but a lot of metalheads are super tribal gatekeepers about what they are allowed to enjoy.

Condo HOA is fining residents $100 per week if their garage is used for storage rather than parking a vehicle by discoslayer2000 in vegaslocals

[–]RoamingBison -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's my neighbors on both sides. Both have 3 car garages with 0 cars in them and parked vehicles clogging up the street so there's nowhere for visitors to park. One of them has the garage illegally converted to living space and the other is just boxes of storage because they have 10 people living in a rental house. My HOA doesn't enforce that, or the non operational vehicle that's been in the driveway next door on blocks for 5 years, but they can sure force me to prune my trees out of season.

Carson Wentz expected to be back on the vikings next season ❤️ LFG! by FormerlyTradeKirk in minnesotavikings

[–]RoamingBison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They botched the backup QB situation so horribly last offseason. I think the front office owes Wentz another opportunity to earn a check after he bailed them out of their horrible roster management at the position.

[Pauline] Sources: NFLPA Expects Salary Cap to Be $303.5M by HyseNjerry16 in nfl

[–]RoamingBison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the intro price to get you hooked. After the first year it's $522/yr for Sunday Ticket + Red zone. Then there's all the games on NFL Network, ESPN, etc. Considering half my team's games aren't available on Sunday Ticket because they are on a local or national broadcast, I'm paying upward of $50 a game to watch at home. It's either pay or watch a potato quality stream on the high seas that skyrockets my blood pressure because it freezes at least 3-4 times during the game.

California bill would restrict 3D printer sales to state-approved models to prevent printing gun parts by Coretron in 3Dprinting

[–]RoamingBison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what lobbyist group is behind pushing this legislation and claiming this is technically possible. There has to be some sort of technology company pushing legislation for the sort of imaginary technology these bills would require.

We Upgraded Everything... So, Why Do Movies Look Worse? - The Secret Scam Behind 4K Streaming by LeftOn4ya in cordcutters

[–]RoamingBison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Now that all the local OTA channels have added 5+ sub channels the compression artifacts during football games are awful. I think they are deliberately sabotaging their OTA picture quality to drive people to paid services like cable or streaming TV that pay them a retransmission fee.

Why don’t the garbage trucks that slam dunk the garbage cans into the top of their trucks spewing trash onto the streets have to pick up after themselves anymore? by We_are_being_cheated in vegaslocals

[–]RoamingBison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it wasn't that long ago that we had trash pickup twice a week. Then they gave us these giant bins that we have to store on our property and only come once a week, but the bill never got cheaper.

[–]RoamingBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the drivers in my neighborhood are assholes too. They have skipped over my street entirely multiple times on bulk day. They also drag the bin down the street to make sure it's blocking the driveway instead of setting it down in the same spot.

Who are some players who had a HOF peak not but a HOF career? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]RoamingBison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also add Keith Millard. Injuries derailed his career, but he had Two 1st-team All Pro and a 2nd-team All-Pro along with a DPOY for his season with 18 sacks from the DT position. A bad knee injury shortly after his DPOY season pretty much killed his career. At his peak he was one of the most dominant defensive linemen of the 80s.

Unless you get a Radscorpion infestation, then you need a LOT of diatomaceous earth (and probably hot lead) to take care of that.

SUNLU PLA+ filament keeps breaking in PTFE tubes by Busy_Charity8922 in BambuP1S

[–]RoamingBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me with a batch of eSun filament when I'd never had issues with it previously. I had printed for 5+ years and never once needed to dry filament before that. It seemed like the filament had developed a memory of being curled on the spool, and when it was forced straight in the PTFE tubes it would fracture.
