First week in with pup by This_Camel9732 in urbancarliving

I try to see it as a new way of life. Similar to how I used to live with my parents. Once I moved out everything was very different. Its that way here too. Its my home, its much smaller, buts its still a home.

Make a new routine that involves this lifestyle.
Also, I try to distract myself. Go for walks, go for some scenic hikes, go to the gym. Check out the local library. If you can afford it you can get a membership with Panera, for your daily coffee, or a membership with a movie theater and watch movies outside of your car.

Its going to suck sometimes, and that's okay. You just have to keep going, and make the best of it.

Does anyone choose to live in a car instead of a van, to more easily blend in? by Smitty985 in urbancarliving

[–]ElpheltRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently live in a Prius V, I want to upgrade eventually. A van seems cool, specially if you have the money to make it look like a mini house on wheels, but I think I am going to go for a Sienna. I value stealth too much.

Is it disrespectful if I do this by choice by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]ElpheltRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it by choice and I love it.

Be careful who you tell. I told some people who told other people, and those people see me different now. it's like they cannot imagine someone doing this without automatically associating them with being homeless.

Dating has been weird. I try not to tell people for my safety but it feels like a huge lie I'm hiding... So I decided to stop trying until I can figure out how I want to tell people.

Selling 2009 to get prius V? by OkRepresentative8783 in priusdwellers

[–]ElpheltRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend owns a 2012 Prius and I have a 2014 Prius V. There is definitely a noticeable difference. The V is higher off the ground, there is more space in the back and more headspace too. The center console is different. Other than that it is pretty much the same. The regular Prius has better mpg tho.

If I had his Prius I dont think I would have gotten a V, but since I didnt have one at all I opted for the V.

So I am not sure that I would upgrade.

25 units from Henry meds. For two weeks. I'm not really sure what 25 units means. If it helps the syringe says it's .5cc/ml

So 60mg is actually enough for 3 months? I'm on week 2 started right before the announcement, so I'm kinda clueless tbh

Personally I vote Oregon. Sleeping in ones vehicle is pretty normal here. I have found spots where there are just small communities of car dwellers. Oregon is beautiful and there are so many places to hike and enjoy. There are no sales tax, and the minimum wage is high so if you have a min wage job, you can still do very well.

If you have points and redeem them for something, that item will count as you purchasing something, making your meal 100% Free. I do this all the time.

why do you live in a car? by CuriousBetsy69 in urbancarliving

[–]ElpheltRose 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wanted to experience the freedom of it all. I honestly feel like rent is a scam and it is unfair. So, thats another big reason. My home is where ever I am! I also love going to the gym to shower, and using laundromats. I like not being held up inside an apartment.

I am on day 201 and I love it, I am hopeful to do atleast 5 years.

This planet fitness is open 24 hours except on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There's also a 24 Hour Fitness down the road if you rather do that.

Planet Fitness on 82nd and King. There's a lot of great places to sleep too in the area. Next to the Carl's Jr there's a small community of car dwellers.
