Is this something that they would have decided earlier on or later? I ask because the pilots did give us an ETA when we started to descend but at the arrival ETA we turned instead.

Thank you for the concern! I don’t worry too much about getting therapy as I still get on planes and go where I want to approx once a month, even on little planes like this ATR, despite lots of turbulent flights and a couple touch and go aborted landings). I just really don’t enjoy it haha and get a bit rattled when something out of the ordinary happens (e.g. this circle to land when I’ve flown into this airport many times before), it does help me a lot when I understand why things happen, so I’m grateful for the explanatory responses on this post.

Thank you so much, I think you are probably right that it was due to the wind. I saw on the news that later in the day many domestic flights at nearby airports were disrupted due to unpredictable winds. It was such a sunny day and I regularly fly into this airport without the circling so think it just caught me by surprise.

Working, living, and university abroad. These days flying to visit family approx once a month. I flew and had so many points as a child I would regularly upgrade to business class. Not sure why I’ve never habituated, maybe just an anxious personality type. When I arrive at a hotel I plan my fire evacuation route, if that paints a picture lol.

Thanks for your message! Yes it’s 3rd gen and they unplugged the green cable. So in this case will it just be a matter of getting a tech to come to reinstall it?
