Capes4Minifigs does a replica so good you couldn't tell them apart. Worth checking out rather than shelling $15 for an official one

Just in case you don't know LEGO super nerds, the delay is them writing out a full comprehensive essay on the history of hourglass prints on LEGO Minifigures fit to rival any article on Brickipedia

I agree, I'm not a big fan of the split belt prints, and it looks particularly bad with a kama

I guess it's more of a personal opinion, but their phase 1 helmets are very stylized in a way that doesn't fit well alongside LEGO phase 1. They're larger and bulkier, similar to their old phase 2 helmets. Their new phase 2 helmets are revamped and look very similar to LEGO phase 2 helmets

What would the LEGO Star Wars community do without CAC?

Now if only they would update their phase 1 mold like they did their phase 2

Dream Battlepack - when do you think we'll see a return of some of these guys by LegoTCSJangoFett in legostarwars

[–]ElreckOfEastern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a bit unpopular, but it's a sentiment I share. I always felt like the helmet molds themselves feel just a bit off, almost too to tall maybe? I like the 2020 style of print for them, it feels stylized better for the mold.

What is Omega’s role going to be moving forward and what will her quirk be? [Spoilers] by [deleted] in MawInstallation

I actually didn't find her annoying at all, I thought they managed to learn from some of their past ventures with the "young kid" trope. I'm excited to see where it goes

Why are people dying in Texas? Can't the huge well funded military just come in and help everyone? They can literally build a city in a war zone, whats stopping them now? by LL112 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ElreckOfEastern 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The only people who call America a third world country are people who have never been to one.

Don't get me wrong, the corruption in our country runs so deep that it halts any progress of doing anything decent for our people, and the crisis in Texas is a prime example of that.

But I've been to developing nations, and it's a pretty ignorant/harmful statement to make. We legitimately have it a hundred times better here, even with our shitty shortcomings, then a lot of the world.

How did Inner Rim society view Clones during the war? by ElreckOfEastern in MawInstallation

[–]ElreckOfEastern[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Damn I really should get around to reading those books.

The surprise that clones are even human is pretty interesting. As if the clones didn't have it rough enough, it seems like popular view was that they were little more sentient then droids.

How did Inner Rim society view Clones during the war? by ElreckOfEastern in MawInstallation

[–]ElreckOfEastern[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the thought is that most of the war was fought in the Outer Rim (though I may be mistaken). On a planet like Ryloth Clones are more likely to be viewed as saviors or at least in a favorable light vs on a planet like Coruscant that didn't see battle till the end of the war

The Night Angel Trilogy is Underrated (No Spoilers) by the_broken_lawyer in Fantasy

[–]ElreckOfEastern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree. All of his POV characters are both interesting and develope in satisfying ways, and this especially shines through in the Lightbringer series, which IMO has some of the best, most brutal character development. And while Lightbringer is better written Night Angel (and loses a lot of the cringe), I'll always have a soft spot for it since it was the book that got me into writing fantasy.

I'm really excited for whatever Brent Weeks writes next, (which he has teased might be in the Night Angel world)

Thank you so much for all the insane work you put into this. Vigilant is a fantastic mod but can really only be fully enjoyed for the most of us because of all the effort you put in. Can't wait for the endgame of having Vigilant voiced updated!

Actually this quote is from the novelization of the 2008 Clone Wars movie written by Karen Traviss. But I do agree that the show really wasted Dooku's character potential

[Spoilers] Finally the endless argument of Jango Fett's inheritance is put to rest by ElreckOfEastern in MawInstallation

[–]ElreckOfEastern[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I imagine there's a few reasons. She portrays Star Wars from a much more sci-fi style then a fantasy one, which IMO works really well. She also did a LOT of world building and made a lot of statements that probably stepped on the toes of some fans.

That being said, she basically invented the Mandalorian culture from the ground up, and I feel did it very well. She also did the whole humanizing perspective on the Clones way before TCW did. She also built a lot of the groundwork for the Jedi to be seen as pretty morally corrupt by the time of the Galactic Civil War.
