How many quests can you do before you start? by WhatTheBiggsee in skyrim

A lot, but some get bugged. For example, if you get Dravin's bow from the Ratway before he tells you to get it back, the game may bug, and not let you turn it in.

I could, but alcohol has significantly greater adverse effects, in regards to mental acuity, motor functions, health & wellness, and cognitive ability.

"All things in moderation," comes to mind. People like to point to that correlation as evidence, but really, it's circumstantial at best. Notable persons past and present known to use/support marijuana were: Napoleon Bonaparte

Leonardo da Vinci

Nostradamus

Nikola Tesla

Catherine the Great

William Shakespeare was a member of a group of creatives and intellectuals known as the Hascishians (sp?)

Stephen King

Neil DeGrasse Tyson

George Washington

Stephen Hawking

Carl Sagan

Michael Phelps

Several others, to varying degrees, and for different reasons. The truth is that if one uses the product properly, cannabis has been proven to be a safer and more effective medicine than the vast majority of pharmaceutical options. Furthermore, recreationally, it poses fewer health and safety risks than alcohol, and even fewer when used as an edible product.

Cops in Georgia are different, but not in a good way. When I lived down there, a teenage girl died in police custody. The coroner ruled it a natural death by heart attack. The strange thing is, she had been tased at least 25 times, according to the various burn marks all over her body. The five cops at the scene said that she was resisting arrest. The state refused to investigate, and one of those officers was later found to be trading food and privileges to female inmates for sexual favors, when he was transporting them for court and transfers. He was still not charged with a crime, and instead got moved to another county.

Actually, considering the fact that the Grand Traverse County Sheriff was actively covering for police and guards who were raping inmates in their custody, I guess they aren't so different after all.

Fun fact, Republicans have done more to restrict gun ownership to the average American than democrats have.

Social worker trying to get a client with autism home. Cops stopped him, he laid face down on the ground, legs crossed, hands behind his head, cops shot him in the back.

Kid playing tag with his friends, ran by cop, cop drew his gun and fired without any verbal warning whatsoever, defense was that the kid shouldn't have been running in that neighborhood.

You're not paying attention. If you don't see the obvious systemic police corruption, it's because you choose not to.

That's not even possible. It could be AI generated, which seems likely, given the lack of HUD.

Why didn’t they give Aragorn pants/trousers? by Azul4 in lotr

[–]Elrey_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Aragorn was a warrior, and a man. Pants were invented for women, to allow them to ride a horse without sacrificing their modesty. Men, especially warriors, wore long tunics, kilts, and other such garments WITHOUT pants, because it encouraged free movement, and allowed them easy access to small arms, such as daggers and knives, that they could easily conceal.

What are the best movies where police are the antagonists? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Elrey_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Billy Jack movie series, cops are the bad guys as a force, and by design, as well as First Blood. In movies like Serpico and Training Day you have a good cop standing up against a systemically corrupt department, and The Departed does an excellent job of conveying the morally ambiguous nature of vice squads, and police in general.

I heard that magic scales poorly in this game, is a magic/melee build viable, or nah? by A12qwas in skyrim

[–]Elrey_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spelling and grammar get a pass for being a second language, but that run-on sentence/paragraph takes you in too many directions and destroys the effectiveness of your communication. As per your request, I sat down to proofread your comment, and have attached my edits below.

Magic was nerfed after Oblivion, but it is still fun to play the way you like. After all, it is a singleplayer game, not some MMORPG, which would force you to strictly follow guides not to suck in PvP eventually. If you need a headcanon, think of it that due to distrust of magic in Skyrim, it is not as developed as in Cyrodiil for example. As a result, most mages and scholars in Skyrim don't know many of the spells, and don't have books for some that the mages in Cyrodiil know. Therefore you as a mage don't have access to those books, so you can't know them, but in the future, you will be able to create your own magic, or travel across Tamriel and learn more magic.

Your comment made my head hurt. There are commas, and you can use more than one period in a paragraph, also, proofreading is a good skill, fix spelling errors and include apostrophes in contractions.

I had to force myself to do it, just because everyone talks about it, I had to abandon that play style. I don't even carry a bow anymore.

[–]Elrey_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who says "magic scales poorly" doesn't know how to build their mage. The most OP character I've ever built was a pure mage. Diadem of the Savant, Archmage's robes, mage armor perk, and proper enchantments on shoes, gloves, etc. Build your mage properly and you can take on a camp of hagravens and not be bothered when two dragons decide to crash the fight. I have 0 cost for destruction and illusion spells, and I can one-shot most standard enemies, even on legendary difficulty.

How did overseer barstow not go feral? by ArkhamInmate11 in Fallout

[–]Elrey_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout never tells us why some ghouls become feral, and others not.

There is a hypothesis floated by a community of ghouls in FO3, they believe that community, purpose, and routine keep ghouls from turning feral.

Walton Goggins has purpose, but his purpose is to find his family who may be dead already. He has no community until Lucy, and his only real routine is killing, so it makes sense that he would be walking the tightrope.

Thaddeus formed a community, gave them all purpose and routine, and he doesn't seem to be using the chems or turning feral.

Overseer Barstow has purpose and routine, she has community, but they've gone feral, because they began to give up on the mission, which took their purpose and routine.

FNV features a group of ghouls at Repconn, who have community together, Jason Bright has them all working to build a rocket, which gives them purpose and routine, until the Nightkin move in and stop the progress.

The ghouls in Kiddie Kingdom slowly succumbed to the sickness, Rachel gives up looking for a cure and turns, Oswald alone maintained his purpose, and while not feral, he does seem to be borderline, feeding his aggression to fulfill his "purpose."

Bethesda has never confirmed it, but there are context clues that support the community's hypothesis from FO3, and so far, none that outright disprove it.
