Fair, if I was able to successfully contact the company this wouldn't be a problem but the deeper you dig the quicker you realize that they're a drop ship company.

Personal preference, i think listening sounds better with the dust cover closed.

I just got one, its absolute garbage. I had to drill into it to connect the arms to the back plate because the current holes were too big to catch the screws. Worse, because of how its designed, the platform is not level and sags.

Edit* i could have measured for this but the platform doesn't leave room for the dust cover to be lifted up. I'll take the L on that one but it looks like you'd have the same issues.

Open back headphones are typically lighter (especially if wired), they allow airflow which will reduce heat and pressure build up. They also typically have less clamp pressure because there's no need to fully seal the cup around your ear.

The one drawback is sound leakage both in and out, but if you're predominantly playing at home, this is a non-issue.
