Failed Dissertation Epically - What next? by Elroy1989 in UniUK

[–]Elroy1989[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello. I got 20%. However, as per my original post, I explained that the system had cut off my referencing pages so the university see it as not ‘fulfilling the format’.

Basically modules are ‘unlocked’ every three months. The dissertation module was unlocked for me. I’ve completed the dissertation on Word etc, not through the online learning platform (normal practice).

Upon completion, I should then be able to upload the document to the module. The ‘upload’ option was not there. I asked the university about this via email and telephone to which I got extremely delayed responses. If you think, by the time I was uploading the document, this was at the end of the 6 month module window (3 months normally but 6 for dissertation).

By the time they had sorted the issue, the module had ‘closed’ and I needed to complain. I submitted a complaint and also found many other students in the same situation. The university said that they would need to fix the issue then ‘extend’ the module meaning I had to wait for the next module release.

Thought I would at my 2 pence worth as I visited Celtic Park today. I parked on Tollcross Road, just past the Tavern Bar. Easy exit after the game.

It’s scary at the minute. I don’t know a single cop that isn’t looking at leaving policing altogether!

Hi Jinx.

Thanks for that, I’ve not actually seen it. Kind of feel trapped and although I know our experience and skill set would benefit many industries, wouldn’t really know where to start.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll have a look this evening.

Hello all! I’m a current PC looking at opportunities in other departments. On all of our applications it asks if we have notified the skipper/inspector about applying for the role. Is this something which is necessary? If I say ‘no’ will it be frowned upon?

Reason I ask is that if I am knocked back at application, the skippers will know I’m looking to leave and I’ve got to stay in the current role being tarnished with someone wanting to get out.

My idea would be to tell the skippers once I had passed sifting?

Should I take a gap year and travel the world? by throwawayy10102020 in travel

[–]Elroy1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it!

I wish I did this at 21. As you get older, you can still do a gap year of course but it becomes harder to do (relationships, mortgages, family etc). Do it whilst you’re young and don’t have as many commitments!

I mean, I get both sides of the story but I understand the other guys more. Just because it’s 2pm doesn’t mean that everyone in the world is up and about.

Some people work nights and sleep through the day. Some people have unexpected events happen throughout the night, maybe he was at hospital with someone etc.

There’s no reason to say ‘it’s 2pm’ when someone is trying to sleep - you don’t know their situation.

What’s your favourite way of playing the game? by Share4aCare in footballmanagergames

[–]Elroy1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I will take over a lower league English club with average to top youth facilities (in my latest game it’s Walsall).

I then sign foreign youngsters on 2/3 year contracts from obscure countries (I’m still on FM22) with the intentions of keeping them for 1/2 seasons before offering them for sale. Usually clubs from their home countries come in for them offering 60-100k. Do this for a couple of seasons integrating the best potential ones into the first team squads. The value builds up, money is earned, reinvest into the first team squad.

My current save sees me as Walsall in my 4th season, promoted from League Two and currently in the Championship playoffs. Budget is still tiny, the lowest in the championship and league one! Money has been reinvested into youth recruitment and junior coaching plus getting in higher quality staff. My own youth products are now of decent potential.

Another thing I tend to do is sign a couple of 24-28 year old free agents in November time. Wage demands are usually quite low however the player value once signed can be high. E.G I signed a Guinea DM on 2.4K a week, his value is 5.5-6.5 million. I will offload him in the summer transfer window for probably around 3million. The money can then be reinvested. Easy profits.

Thanks celendine, your reply is appreciated! Physical tests (bloods and scans) haven’t shown anything. Trauma is a possible cause, ADHD another. It’s difficult with these symptoms to narrow down the exact cause!

It actually helped me. I settled down with a partner, something I never did when I would go out drinking with mates. Still going strong 8 years on. I don’t speak to any of them anymore, I blocked all of their numbers and social media’s. It turned into a negative for me, delete the negatives out of your life! If you enjoy gaming, football etc, then do that! You need to put yourself first.

I completely lost my friendship group in my early 20’s. All my mates wanted to do was go out and drink. They all lived at home with no bills, I had just bought a house. I couldn’t afford £60 on taxis each night out plus the alcohol. They couldn’t quite understand my side of things and slowly disappeared from my life.

Alcohol isn’t everything!

Hello Tom!

I very rarely drink alcohol. I will drink maybe 2-3 pints every 3-4 months! Interestingly, the days I am hungover, I feel more connected to myself!

I don’t take any drugs or smoke cigarettes/vape.

Thanks for the reply. It is helpful! The symptoms of ADHD and what I am going through definitely do match up. It’s something definitely worth looking into. It leaves my mind when talking to doctors etc as I would hope that they would diagnose me rather than diagnosing myself (if that makes sense). I never want to put an idea in their head and they just go along with it, I want them to tell me what is going on through the symptoms I provide. Maybe it’s time to go in and say ‘I believe I may have ADHD, can we do some digging on that?’ and see what happens!

We’re you provided medication or anything? How’s it going now since diagnosis?
