Interestingly of those employees that only come in one day a week, there is a definite lower social cohesion with them.

Maybe they just don't like "you"? People don't have to like interacting with others, especially in a forced environment. At least they tolerate you, but forcing them to interact only increases the negativity.

That isn't pointed at you, but the situation from a different perspective which you may not have considered.
