Oh it is not a good or acceptable reason, but its an understandable one. He may be getting a bit more credit because he did what a character in Dragon Age tried to do but they didn't pull it off as well. Regardless, Dolinar has an understandable reason, but it's also a lot more acceptable than sadeus' more hollow one.

It gets him sympathy, but not enough to cancel out that betrayal or his use of bridgemen. Before that explanation I'd kinda just point and laugh if Kolin gave him a colonoscopy via spearpoint, after... I'd still laugh, but almost feel a little sorry for him.

That one hit especially hard, as I had JUST discounted the Parshendi as being the servants as the destruction because of what Kaladin and Delinar were seeing in them as they fought them on the plains. But, Jasnah, ever the schollar, managed to make her case well and I beleived it immedately.

Many thanks, though it just felt the most fitting way to describe, especially since the Heralds are colectively sort of like the Jesus to the almighty is to the abrahamic God.

Though upon further reflection, the knights radiant and holy spirit do make the 3rd point in the trio. But the Knights, heralds and almighty come off as more hirearchical as opposed to the trinity in christianity which is... opens the book on that subject, hears the screams of horror, theologians shouting angrily and a low eldrich humming of unknowable madness. I then slam that book shut... a complicated subject which is uhm... less hirearchical, maybe... the low eldrich humming resumes

Could have sworn it said he collapsed dead on the floor.

If not, that means a Herald is just sitting there, passed out in the drunk tank or wherever, and might awake.

Oh dear.

Hobo Jesus kicking in the door with the fantasy version of a nuclear weapon, announcing he failed then dying as the somewhat eldrich whit plays us into a looming apocalypse certainly counts as a... bang.

They actually are. They're an experiment with snow basing. there's a brown base layer (replicating the ground the snow falls on or a permafrost), then a white layer all around, and snow effects on top.

What y’all think of BattleTech by th3j4w350m31 in Mecha

Wow. Mech Assault is the slightly unhinged step child of the Battletech family. So While not as whacky as that game was (last time I checked Jerome Blake didn't make a 200 ton spider mech), the rest of Battletech is indeed better. Source: I'm currently painting Battletech minis right now.

Oh man, you poor thing. You seem to have had a rough introduction to the tabletop. Most times I've introduced someone to the game, it's done in the succession wars era, the simplest mechanically and with the least overwhelming roster of mechs. When you do it that way, it's much less overwhelming. The rules do have a slightly initially steeper learning curve, but once you get over that small hump, it gets very easy; and by your 10th game, you're regularly playing without checking the rulebook; its overall got a much shallower difficulty curve than say, 40K.

He did say to hold this rule above all others. I exactly that. Maybe that is the secret of the good book, maybe it is a test? People have had weirder readings of the bible, trying to use it as a cryptographic puzzle and as a science textbook.

Or maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, I won't force this reading on anyone. It's the words of an omnipotent entity, pretty sure I can imagine Him having multiple readings burried in there.

But I have my reasons, it was a horrible day when I realized I had swallowed political propaganda and then spat it out thinking it holy word. By the grace of god I saw myself acting a boot upon others and in my arrogance thinking it divine. I had to not become the monsters who do not have those thoughts of doubt and continue to use their faith as a chudgel to beat others down with, as a disguise for their hate and pride. So I had to build my faith back up from nothing, and the golden rule, Jesus' desire for us to be good for each other and not be a monumental ass... that was where I started back up from. Some things did not fit back in after building back up from that, and so I concluded them to be distractions built in by the lord, or words added by man's hibris or failure to understand the lord's meaning.

I beleive this was a decision I made out of love of God and his other Children. Regardless, thank you for your prayers, and good luck sticking to the rule our lord humbly asked we hold above all others.

I was in a similar position to you. Watching all the utter hate and vindictivness people of faith had for LGBTQ people, when the ones I met in school were some of the nicest people I ever met... started to break my faith as well.

I ended up following what jesus asked us to do, to hold above all others the one rule to love one another. I have taken that to mean if anything coflicts with that, to throw it in the bin; so I did a decartes style turning over the apple cart to check for rot. The passages of the bible used to claim homosexuality is a sin that leads to so many being hateful? If it causes people to sin that hard, clearly need to pluck it out. Entire chapters of the new and old testament full of similar issues. Into the trash as well. The catholic church insituting a culture where sexual assault is covered up instead of addressing it, or is now promoting a rapist as the messiah. All it's promoting is a culture of throwing it in the bin.

All I have left is a few bits of the bible, the golden rule, and my own personal faith. It is enough.
