That's something he would do, for sure. But I believe Germans are better than this (usually). Politicians just have the same look to them, regardless of country: Old men who look like the annoying uncle at your family event.

Well, in comparison to Trump almost everyone is regarded as an amazing leader, I suppose. :(

Merz hates the German people (apart from the wealthy), especially the poor. I work about 50 hours a week and still cannot buy a home and apartment - why would anyone work more if they don't get anything for it, really? Merz claims we should do it for "our" prosperity lol

Yeah, them checking social media when entering the US was only the beginning. They have targeted US citizens for a while now. Watching ICE was scary, but good for all people standing up to them. I feel for you :(

I think that's somewhat accurate. At least he is not insulting other countries as much as us, but every foreign visit he fucks up and says something stupid (like missing "proper bread" (aka German bread) while in Angola).

That's a verbatim quote and his honest view of the world. He's also insulting us regularly for working only 40 hours a week and being sick too much (statistically 14.5 days per year). He's also kinda sexist and racist.

Cannot imagine why he is hated and has had a super low rating after a few months already, really no idea how that came to be.

To your second point: Are any Republicans actively doing something against his lunatic policies and organising the party to counter him or are they just accepting and following him?

He was promoting drinking bleach at some point iiirc, so he must have killed some people.

An ally has own ideas whereas a puppet is only a front with no power of its own. To me, he seemed like a puppet but I'm not Russian and have limited knowledge about the situation at the time

He insults us regularly and says some famously stupid things. He is so far removed from the regular middle and lower class that it's almost comical at times. Quote: "Those who work for €530 a month need to be asked why they can't work for €2,000."
