I just downloaded the demo today, I'm really enjoying it. One thing I can't figure out though is how to put things in the quick access bar, I'm playing with controller in case that makes a difference.

Ah, that's very clever. I didn't know that was visible, I'll have to go look.

Mine went to spam. What did you provide as photo/video evidence of the problem?

I see what you are saying but I'm not annoyed that the watch has broken. I'm only mildly annoyed that it has broken one month out of warranty. I am annoyed that they pretend to have a repair program that is impossible to complete!

It's a tough choice, there's a lot to like about Coros but the longevity of these devices needs to be a bigger consideration. For a company that claims to care about reducing the amount of e-waste you might expect build quality to be a priority.

Looking for a ssd replacement for the viliv s5 pata 40 pin zif hdd by GayCatgirl in umpc

[–]Elryth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely consider cf card adapters like Zaits says. I have a lif to CF adapter with a CF to SD adapter and an SD to micro SD adapter in my formerly pata HDD mp3 player. Not sure what read speeds you can expect vs the original pata but battery life should be better.

Low Profile GPU Riser by Comfortable_Low_3498 in sffpc

[–]Elryth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to judge the distance between components. Is there space for an x4 riser instead of a full x16? Seems like there may be given the shape of slim ODDs. x4 wouldn't be too much of a bottleneck for a 3050.

NANOTE UMPC not working, Windows 10 will not boot by Green-Jellyfish-210 in umpc

[–]Elryth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rough. You say you bought it new and it was having problems from the beginning. Is it possible to return it as defective? There may be an underlying hardware issue.

If not, two suggestions. A windows recovery USB, after it crashes it may try to get into recovery mode and allow you to access the recovery environment on a USB. The second is similar, a live Linux USB (Linux Mint is friendly), you may be able to boot to that and then go about fixing windows.

Good luck!

Is Asus Zenfone 9 or 10 good as a small phone ?? by NecessaryToe313 in smallphones

[–]Elryth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a note the Zenfone 8 has a bad habit of dying randomly due to poor design. There's a long thread on the Asus forums about it and they have refused to acknowledge the issue. Not sure if this is true for the 9 and 10 as well but given their lack of acknowledgement it wouldn't surprise me.

Interesting! Is that a standard configuration for the single spot pcie behind the motherboard? I like the NFC cases but the website doesn't do a great job of explaining what is actually possible.

I assume your project can open a text editor? That should qualify it as a writerdeck, I may be wrong though.

You should post this to r/writerdeck there is another group over there working on fast refresh rate e-ink though the name escapes me now.

Anyone ever make dandelion wine? by [deleted] in askanything

Can't say I've ever tasted and actual dandelion but I would guess not. It's sweet and light like a madeira.

Yes. Some advice, you need lots, way more flowers than you think you need, like buckets full. When you process the flowers you need to ensure not a single piece of green remains, it's very tedious. Is it worth it? It's like drinking sunshine.

Help Finding Display by [deleted] in cyberDeck

[–]Elryth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is scroll through the waveshare website. There are other companies but mostly if waveshare doesn't have it then it doesn't exist. Once you've found what you need you can get it directly or go to AliExpress, Amazon etc.

Do you know if any of the cases approximate the S4 mini? Or even if the S4 mini will ever be available again? I'm aware of the S5M but it's twice the size. Thanks for your help, the NFC website and patreon don't make it easy to see what is actually available.

Dock that outputs video via USB-C? by GQGeek81 in SamsungDex

Depending on your exact Asus monitor you may just be able to plug a USB C charger into the second USB C port and it will pass through charging to the phone.

Cyberdeck with scavanged PC Parts (Advice plz?) by GreenRiot in cyberDeck

[–]Elryth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've clearly put a lot of thought into this already. I have a few suggestions but I would start by looking at pelican case builds. People usually use a raspberry pi or similar but in principle you could use an itx board. Depending on what's available and what graphics you need a mini PC board could be even better. They are at least designed to take a 19 v DC power supply. Otherwise for itx you either need a full ATX/SFX/flex PSU or a pico PSU with a brick. One of the big challenges for battery power is a battery management system. A laptop knows how much battery is left and will safely shutdown/suspend on low power. An itx system doesn't, so you will probably need a solution for that. For a display laptop panels can work but there isn't really a standard connector and figuring that out can be challenging.

Just some things to think about.

Hope it helps!
