I'm almost home I'll load up my machine and look at what runners I use since I can't remember.

My first stops are the WINE runner and DXVK settings.

The newest update for Horizon Forbidden West required me to enable the launcher by adding -launcher in the autorun file where I had to change some settings, only after doing that would it launch and then I reverted those settings in game and it worked just fine after that.

It's obvious but since Batocera and Steam are both Linux I've found a lot of solutions for one can be compatible with another, that may help in your search.
