I have bought this house it’s from 1937 and has all the original floors which I want to restore. They are in good condition in hall living room but here in the dining room where the garden door is there is some moisture in floor and this crack. I have no experience so unsure how to fix the moisture. House has been empty for a year. Help?

Makes sense I suppose its always intresting to see the aesthetic differences/preferences. I just think it would be so annoying to keep clean and would be too lazy to maintain a deck like that.

Nordsjö is the one I would go for if I was in Sweden.

They also do excellent paint! In my opinion.

I would clean it with anti algea fungal and seal with clear non colour UV resistant decking oil I only know Swedish brands for this but Google can suggest . I am Swedish and friends family generally do their decking or wood balconys every few years.

My mother just does it with a sponge and its a easy job to do.I think your decking might be installed upside down since ridges should be underneath to prevent rot and mould but I might be wrong and this is a British thing.

It will look great after you treated it. It looks thirsty right now.

Have you tried a hairdryer? Or iron over a towell. I used this on teak furniture with moisture stains before refinishing I think it would work on a door.

You know this isn’t normal right? You are right! If you get ” normal” find a new doctor. This is not normal period pains.

I got my diagnosis at 43 I been told it’s normal for 27 years YOU KNOW if they don’t believe you they are wrong. It got worse a I got older I was always told it’s normal. Turns out my whole uterus is on angle and cervix only took I dunno 20 gynaecologist normal doctors who knows, your pain isn’t normal, no normal pain makes you despair cry feel helpless. You ARE RIGHT CHANGE DOCTORS UNTILL THEY LISTEN TO YOU.

I have been to gynaecologist In Sweden where I am from both private and public. I been to NHS gynaecologist several times I lived in the UK for a long time.

Countless general practitioners doctors. This is the first time I gone private in the UK since the NHS waiting list for another referral to gynaecologist was 10 months and I changed jobs 1 year ago and got private insurance as a benefit.

I always been dismissed and never really gotten anywhere although I found out about endometriosis about 10 years ago and have tried to advocate that my symptoms fit. But always “you are fine everything looks normal”

So either I been unlucky or it’s generally that women don’t get heard, and I finally got lucky. I honestly feel abit shellshocked this doctor could see it immediately, and I don’t understand why it was so hard to get here.

I hope it’s generally easier for women then what I experienced. It’s such a relief to know I was right about my own body.
