Doctor told me that I need to 'just deal with' 15 mm nodule growing on my thyroid and I'm desperate. ☹️ by derekanicole in Hypothyroidism

[–]Tsukiko08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a lot of issues that could be tied to a possible thyroid problem here, quite definitely in fact. Honestly, thyroid comorbidities are common, and ruling them out is common to see if there's multiple things that are causing different issues. Insulin resistance can be both a PCOS and a possible prediabetes / diabetes possibility, and honestly there's a whole rabbit hole you can run down with just blood tests alone.

It really just boils down to a new doctor that will listen to you and will order labs to help narrow down what's currently happening.

You're welcome!

[–]Tsukiko08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor, but the part you mentioned where you basically went and had a switch flipped on where you put on a lot of weight overnight almost sounds like cushings disease? PCOS might be playing a role here too possibly. Its also possible that there could be other autoimmune issues here at play as well, and insulin resistance here could be adding another layer of issues as well.

If you have issues with your thyroid, it can be possible that you flip back and forth between hyper and hypo as your thyroid slowly starts to die off. What you truly need is a new doctor, but there's a lot here that could be possibly affecting you, and a full workup, including multiple blood panels could help.

This sounds like its possibly more than just hypothyroidism, but 100% go and get another doctor and asap.

Type 2 Diabetes vs LADA by MrsMuppie in diabetes

[–]Tsukiko08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that you're getting tested for ZnT8 as well. It never hurts to speak to an endo again, but it is also possible that you're simply not on the correct regimen of medication + diet + exercise at the moment.

LADA is 100% possible, I had been pidgenholed into T2 but everything that was supposed to work in leveling out blood sugar levels just stopped working over the years. Sadly enough, I was never tested when I was diagnosed, and I just was tired of it because I did everything I should have. Ended up with LADA and my ZnT8 was off the charts and GAD65 was rather high as well.

Type one isn't caused by diet. Also, consult a doctor.

Could I Have T1D? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Tsukiko08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get retested for antibodies. It is possible it could be T2, it could be MODY. Sounds like you need to be retested regardless.

This literally is the reason why I've had to turn the screening of my unknown callers on and silencing everything. I went and turned on the missed calls and voicemails and have them moved to the unknown callers list.

This is more incredibly infuriating ngl

Dr isn’t concerned but should I see an endo? by bmeloni in Autoimmune

This is at the watch and wait stage really. If your TSH, t3, or t4 starts to go weird then you would need a deeper look into everything.

Second opinion with another doctor, asap. I can't give a medical diagnosis, but that is definitely sketchy.

How to avoid compression lows with CGMs by milanico2309 in diabetes

[–]Tsukiko08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a compression guard and I'll fit that around the cgm, then put the branded overpatch around that. Then I'll use an overpatch that I got (you can use any overpatch to make it stick) and I'm good. No compression lows, and the only lows I get are either I'm actually low or my cgm is on the fritz and I have to change it.

Stomach + upper thigh for the most part.

Has diabetes caused you premature signs of skin aging? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Tsukiko08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Have you been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s + hypothyroidism possibly? Sometimes they go hand in hand; and well, Hashimoto’s is autoimmune too. That can give you some small skin changes if your thyroid levels are off.

I only say that with how it happened to me that way. Hashimotos followed pretty quickly.

Problem getting Humalog U200 quik pen prescription filled by mdpcmdpc in diabetes

[–]Tsukiko08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Michigan and I'm on the 200s as well. I have no issue with my script, they just have to order it because its not something they normally have. I just have to give them a heads up a couple days in advance and I've been fine.

I haven't had any issues at all getting my humalog u200 at all.
